Getting away from the Big 2 of Sci-Fi, I was wondering where all the other shows get rated by you guys.

Considering:
Babylon 5
Farscape (a personal favorite)
V (original)
V (remake)
Logan's Run (the Series, not the movie)
Lost in Space (original)
Lost in Space (remake)
(There's lots, these are just examples)

Not included are sci-fi adjacent shows (ones with a singular sci-fi premise but otherwise not really using science fiction as a primary backdrop). Examples:
(note - this does not imply these shows are BAD - just that the sci-fi element is really only used to tell a different story, rather than driving the story)
Alien Nation
Quantum Leap
The Incredible Hulk

To both Battlestar mentions:
Original or remake?

Or the misunderstood masterpiece, Galactica 1980 ;p

While the original Battlestar series is good, the remake is one of the best TV Series ever.

If you want a huge time sink then go with Stargate.

If you want a serialized space opera, BSG is great as is The Expanse.

If you're looking for more mission of the week type of show, I highly recommend Stargate SG-1. I binged that many years back and it was one of the more enjoyable binges I've had. It's got a good balance of Mission of the Week with the bigger story arc and it's just a fun show.

To me, it has to be Doctor Who. The sheer size of episodes ranging to before I was even born to now. The fandom behind it can only be compared to Star Wars and Trek. No other show mentioned here can come close to that fandom.

Edit: Not to mention it would take over 15 days straight non stop to watch every episode of Doctor Who (old and new)

Firefly. Even though it was only one season, it deserves a mention, doesn't it?

i really like this series

quote:

Space: Above and Beyond

Those who think TV is no place for hard sci-fi need to remember the mid-1990s' Space: Above and Beyond, which focuses on a band of fighters known as the Wildcards. In the show, Earth must defend its colonies against the marauding Chigs, aliens that have limited access to faster-than-light propulsion while Earthers make do with maps and timetables of known wormholes.

In addition to the typical flyboys (and flygirls, like Kristen Cloke's Captain Vansen), Space: Above and Beyond did what all good sci-fi is supposed to do: use far-out concepts to tackle difficult subject matter. The scientifically enhanced in-vitros of its universe are bigger, stronger, and faster, but treated like second-class citizens because of how they are created. Further down the chain are the Silicates, rebellious AIs who may have more to do with the Chigs than we first realize.

Space: Above and Beyond lasted only one season—further proof that it is terrific.

man i loved that show and was pissed then didnt continue the series, i dont recall why but it was "must watch" TV
