Great scene. Although I wasn't expecting anything from the Expendables, the way it built up towards the end, I was disappointed that they didn't have a "Let's go get Angel." scene.

Some scenes I love:

Pat Garret and Billy the Kid - Slim Pickens death. Gorgeous scene set to Knocking on Heaven's Door.

Royal Tennanbaums opening.

Good Will Hunting scene where Affleck and Damon are talking at the construction site.

Halloween - original. Opening scene.

Scream opening. I can't think of a more tense ten minutes in movies.

Seven Samurai - Fight in the rain.

Op has a great one. And I'll add basically any scene with Robert De niro in Godfather 2. But the opening sequence to Inglorious Basterds has to be my number one. Whatta way to start a movie.

One my all time favorite scenes is from Boondock Saints. All of the murder scenes throughout the movie are badass but in the beginning where they kill the two Russian Mob guys who came back to kill one of the brothers, that's fricking tops for me... it was a great start to a great movie.

frick... arse!

Opening Scene of Casino Royale

It's not one of the greatest scenes, but I always enjoy it.

I was considering posting the beginning scene with the long chase down. I remember it had me on the edge of my seat the first time i watched it. The whole thing may not be very realistic/believable, but come on.....it's Bond! James Bond!

Any of a dozen scenes in Citizen Kane?

Nothing from Eisenstein? Really?

Fair enough, and the OP did state "scene you've seen", but I hope you realize you have missed a lot of movie history. Its easy to catch up, though.

A couple that come to mine are a few of the battle scenes in LOTR.

The woods scene in The Patriot where he rescues his son I think.

Not sure what Matrix movie its from, but the one where they enter the lobby and have the guns in the bag and the alarm goes off and they have to get through all the security officers.

I love Band of Brothers (I know it is a Mini), and there are some great scenes, but I love the ending baseball scene the most, good stuff.

Did anyone mention the long, continuous shot going into the nightclub in Goodfellas?

Perfection.
