This is tough. *slight spoilers*

I think El Indio (For a Few Dollars More) is the most complex character. Truly haunted by an evil act he did. Keeps himself high to get away from it.

Angel Eyes(TGTBTU) was a straight up badass. However, didnt get the screentime the others got imo. As The Good, Bad and Ugly is more about Blondie and Tuco.

Frank (OUATW) is the most evil of them and played superbly by Henry Fonda. His chemistry in the scenes with Charles Bronson are best interactions between "Good guy/Villain"

Which is the best? Sorry left out Ramone from A Fistful of Dollars. He's involved in one of the greatest scenes ever though.

Can you really go wrong?

Damn, I love these movies. You could watch Fistful of Dollars and For a Few Dollars More with the dialogue turned off and still be completely entertained by the music and visuals.

Well...its not that simple.

I think El Indio was the best character. Henry Fonda gave the best performance as Frank though.

Tough call between Frank and Angel Eyes, though I'd lean towards Fonda as Frank.

This. And for some reason - For a Few Dollars More is a movie that gets overlooked a little in the "pantheon"... but it's fantastic.

You get the subtext!

Just thinking about the psychological damage done to El Indio by that event. Ok, yes he's an evil bastard and all. Killing the girl's husband. But while he's raping her (again a sick pos) ..the girl grabs the gun.......and kills herself. She literally chose to die knowing she was raped by him...instead of putting a bullet in him killing him. Just as a dude...that haunts him forever. A woman he was so infatuated with....ultimately killed herself because he was so disgusting. The whole "keeping the watch and using it for death" was a fitting end. Its like that watch was keeping time of his life left on earth. The split second he looks at the watch while looking at Lee Van Cleef gets me everytime. Then when Eastwood makes things even"now we start". Dude sheds a tear while Lee Van Cleef is in full badass mode. A truly evil, but complex character.

It's my third favorite of the 4 films myself, I can't say it gets overlooked as much as it's hard to hold up to GBU and OUATITW. It's hard to stand up to two of the best westerns of all time and not get overshadowed.

That being said, it's awesome in it's own right.

Yea its hard top TGTBU and OUATITW

But FFDM is still great in its own right. If it had the budget of the other movies..MAYBE it could have been as good or better.
