I always said it was the same thing that was in the trunk in Repo Man.

The real answer is a McGuffin...(for the real movie 'tards here)

Was Lenny in Memento Sammy Jenkins (did he kill his own wife)?

God, this movie has been the thorn in my side for so long. I love it, and think I have it fully realized, but very discussion of it always leaves me needing to watch it again.

Okay, IIRC, Sammy Jenkins was full of shite and really was a con artist trying to get some money. Lenny got the same memory condition he did after some punks broke into his house and beat him up. His wife got frustrated with him and tested him by having him give her insulin over and over and Lenny killed his wife. But Lenny screwed it up in his own head that the punks killed his wife and Sammy Jenkins was the one who gave his wife too much insulin.

So there was an actual Sammy Jenkins, but Lenny did kill his wife.

Spoilers for those who haven't seen Book of Eli and still intend to do so. Then again, if you wanted to see it, you would have by now.

The other big question that was debated fairly recently was whether Denzel's character was blind in The Book of Eli.

There were actually 3 differing opinions:
1. He was blind the entire movie.
2. He was not blind but learned to read braille.
3. He was not blind early in the movie, but was late in the moview.

I was actually surprised that this was even questioned, as I thought it was obvious that the reveal at the end was to show that he had been blind all along.

#3 above seems really dumb to me, but I remember it being suggested.

I was talking to a woman at work about Book of Eli, and she didn't realize he was blind until I told her.
Its obvious he was blind the entire time. You'd have to be on crack to think otherwise.

Then how did Edward James Olmos's character know that Deckard was dreaming about unicorns?
I don't even know what that means. Nothing about him hints replicant. The replicant angle was an afterthought of Scott, nothing more.

The unicorn dream is the basis for the entire replicant argument.

OK, well I don't get it. Anyway, the screenwriter wrote the character as human. I'd have to see it again, but there are things about him that make him being a replicant simply unbelievable, as silly as that is.

In the book, Deckard is not a replicant and his humanity is established. In the movie, there are many indications that he is a replicant. The eyeshine scene and the unicorn dream being two of the more obvious ones.

Neither are obvious to me, but then again, I'm not a bright man.

Watching inception right now, I know the ending is open. But I just picked up on something and it may be nothing. He said he wouldn't call out to his kids and then he said the only way he can see his kids face is to get home, his real home.
I can't remember and im not close to the end, did they show the kids faces at the end?

The writer, that's why we have the movie.
