My vote is Christopher Walken in "Pulp Fiction".

Not sure I would call that a cameo. His actions were integral to the story.

I consider a Cameo, someone in a toss out scene like a cashier at a fast food restaurant or someone you stop on the street to ask the time. Not someone that is a large part of the plot development.

A cameo role or cameo appearance (often shortened to just cameo) is a brief appearance of a known person in a work of the performing arts, such as plays, films, video games[1] and television. These roles are generally small, many of them non-speaking ones, and they're commonly appearances in a work in which they hold special significance

I still say Walken's role is not a cameo.

Bob Barker in Happy Gilmore is.

its a classic cameo imo. What you are descriping probably counts for someone famous , but it really sounds like an extra.

Will Farrell in Wedding Crashers is another great cameo imo.

Bill Murray was awesome in Zombieland.

Can't forget about Tom Cruise in Tropic Thunder. Hell, he was the best part.
