The guy is a solid actor.
What are some roles you really liked him in (besides Hollywoodland, which you named)?
Only non-Boston role I liked him in was Argo, and then he was just satisfactory. PLUS, I didn't think "Ben Affleck" the entire time he was on screen in Argo because of his hair and beard (which might work with a Bat costume).

He also has the imposing size to match Cavill, and he's got a good mug for the cowl.
This I might can agree with, but when the cowl is off = Ben Affleck.

We should all be more worried about the forced nature of the DC Universe, the terrible premise, and the fact that this could never work on film given MoS.
Well, this is a problem unto itself. This feels forced, but adding in, what I am sure the studio feels is a known quantity/ superstar/ lead man/ whatever, does not help the situation.
I think they hit a homerun with Cavill, but then it seems like they were trying to find an established person to put along side him in the next film to sell tickets, which speaks to the rushed issue.
I hated Hathaway as catwoman, but she was the best part of that movie. So, I will wait until at least a trailer before shitting on this film.

I'd also add Iron Man 2 and 3 to that category:
Iron Man - A-
The Incredible Hulk - D
Iron Man 2 - C-
Thor - B
Captain America - B-
The Avengers - B+
Iron Man 3 - C-
So that's about an average of C plus...better than average.

Oh, please.
It seems to be true of those who talk down about Marvel's films, which are all fairly cheesy, respectful of their source material and more about good guys versus bad guys (fun entertainment, above average films) and at the same time praise Nolan's films despite their vast flaws, particularly TDKR.
You know it to be true Captain America > Dark Knight Rises. Fact.

People can't shite on Daredevil without seeing the Director's Cut. Sorry. That movie was shredded in post-production. The real version is actually fairly good.
I don't really hate Daredevil either, but come on, Daredevil playing Batman.

It is kinda interesting that this comes several days after the rumor of Warner Bros offering Bale 50 million for one more go as Bruce.
You mean the offer that never happened?

you mean like human torch playing cap? that worked out ok.
some of you need to realize this movie is two years from being released and all we know are the two leads and the director. we don't know the story or the villain or anything. I'm not saying it wont suck. it might be terrible but I'll wait before I pass too much judgment.

I like good film and know a good movie when I see one. I liked X1 and X2 a lot and thought Spider-Man and Spider-Man 2 were two of the most influential comic book films to come along in a generation, despite both of them showing their age 10 years later. I am also in the minority in that I liked X-Men Origins: Wolverine. I thought that was a great action movie. I am also a big fan of X-Men: First Class - a movie I believe to be superior to any of the Avengers Initiative films.

Flame boy from FF4 plays Cap...
Just saying. People are quick to forget.
Storm plays Catwoman...

Kind of reminds me of Chris Evans (Human Torch from the god awful Fantastic Four movies) being cast to play Captain America.

No, but that still doesn't make Affleck the right choice.

DC on the other hand was on a hot streak of horrible films. Brand recognition only takes you so far.
Do what now?
You seemed terribly misinformed. Wouldn't be a problem though if you weren't talking like you knew everything.

And both are incredibly miscast.

This is my mantra as well.

Either way, it's a grown man dressing as a bat. Are people really like "OMG I'm totes not going to take the character with cute bat ears and a cape seriously if it's so and so actor."

Ok when I say solid actor, I don't mean he's a chameleon. He does what he does well, although it is a narrow range of characters. Thankfully, Bruce Wayne would fit comfortably within that spectrum. So it's a good choice. Most of all, outside of Gigli, Affleck's eye for scripts is pretty good.
In terms of performances I liked:
Argo
Hollywoodland
The Town
Boiler Room
Chasing Amy
The Company Men (Probably closest to part of the Bruce Wayne range)
Jersey Girl
Changing Lanes (terrible movie, solid performance)
And Runner Runner looks quite good.

Like I said, I understand this sentiment. It doesn't bother me with Affleck. I always see Johnny Depp though. He sucks as an actor relative to his perceived value. I never see anyone but him. Oh well.

Like I said, it's been all bad news to me, this is the first bright spot I've seen in terms of this film. Everything else screams "FORCED."

What I am saying is that DC and Warner Bros are chasing their "The Avengers" and instead of letting the DC cinematic universe develop, they are shooting for the moon and forcing the crossover.
So you are saying that there is only one way to do something (your way), and if a studio head does it any other way, it's automatically the wrong way.
You and people like you are what's wrong with the public's perception of the motion picture industry.

Admit it, you just hate the Avengers hype and the fact that it trounced TDKR in the theaters.
It's ok. We are here to help.
