I've never watched it and I'm not even fully through the mini-series. Holy shite why is it not discussed more often?

For those old enough Edward James Olmos was the glue that made Miami Vice such a great series with Michael Mann directing. I'm hooked.

I'm old enough to remember the TV series with Lorne Greene as Adama. (1978-1979) That's right, Ben Cartwright, Hoss and Little Joe's daddy, as Commander Adama. lasted 1 season

The concept of BSG was interesting and the search for the 13th colony was fine. Where the reboot lost me is the endless ( spoilers !) cycle of EVERYONE being a cylon, even the humans. It's just terrible story telling and makes the whole drama just pointless.

I probably talk about BSG weekly in a variety of threads. Any "Suggest me a show thread" I'm posting BSG for sure.

Particularly in threads involving bears and beets.

BSG reboot definitely beats most of the Prequels and Sequel Trilogy.

But the dartboard of Cylon infiltrators was tedious. Also Everytime I tried to watch it on reruns it was always the roborape scene.

Yeah, almost like it was West World before there was a West World.

There were only 12 Cylon models. Sheesh.

That plot point was post-9/11 commentary on how we didn’t know how many sleeper cells there were in the US and that was driving a fear-based reaction in the populace.

You have to look at the series through the lens of 9/11.

One of the best, if not the best, sci fi television series ever made. They took the template of the original and made it better.

Overall the Starwars universe is much better and deeper.
With that being said, BSG was a top 2 or 3 all time show for me until they tried to subvert expectations too far.
I liked the 12 model idea but they went way too far with it later on.
It really dragged on there toward the end for me.

It became very tedious towards the end. Not sure that I finished it.
