It annoys me how it’s obvious Gotham was changed to be more like NYC in TDKR when in the first two it was obvious Chicago was the stand in.

Either one was fine on it’s own, but it’s just inconsistent for a trilogy.

Batman Begins is the best Batman movie in the trilogy. I didn’t really follow production other than seeing the new Batmobile. I remember walking into that theater with really low expectations following the shite that was Batman & Robin. I walked out just stunned that someone had finally gotten it right. They made Bruce relatable and brought Batman into the real world. It was one of the better trips to the movies I’ve ever had.

TDK is an epic movie and I won’t argue against anyone who says it’s the best comic movie of all time. I could watch it 100 times and it’s soundtrack by Zimmer is epic. It does feel like a different city than in Begins which I’ve always had a slight issue with but that is mainly due to scaling up the production and showing that Batman is cleaning up Gotham.

It's a great movie. As people have mentioned before, it's hard to reset and have a proper finale when the escape from Arkham and car chase steal the show.

If I'm nitpicking, I do notice how awkward and lumbering the batsuit is compared to the latter movies.

I'm with you, Chicago was Gotham in Nolan's world. Shooting in NYC and Pittsburgh, it's just not the same.

I love the route Arkham City took Ra's.

Which I kind of liked and I get why they changed it, but I wasn’t the biggest fan of the new suit in TDK & TDKR. Can’t really put my finger on why though.

BB captured quintessential comics Gotham with the narrows. Then they moved away from it and focused on the rich areas of Gotham which kind goes against the grain of Batman. Gotham felt way too fricking clean. It essentially became Metropolis.

Origin stories are also often the best when done well.

My biggest gripe is the divot in the bat symbol on the chest.

Bat symbol should have been a dark gun metal gray too.

Batman Begins was mostly shot in London, with parts filmed in Chicago and NYC

Talking about The Dark Knight Rises, no?

I don't think anyone is disputing the set pieces being shot at Pinewood.

The Gotham Skyline in Batman Begins and The Dark Knight were Chicago.

It was switched to NYC and Pittsburgh in TDKR.

My only issues with it are the fight scenes. Nolan has never been good at those

They were awkward and poorly edited. But your second point is wrong. TDK shows vast improvements, and then that fight scene with Bane at the end of TDKR is fantastic. Doesn't matter what you think of that movie (I love it, but I understand the hate), the filming of that scene was brilliant.

Penthouse Fight Scene

I hate how each villain takes their turn to fight.

Gotham was my big issue with the whole trilogy. One of the things I'm loving about Reeves movie, is gotham looks like it's going to be awesome.

BB is actually better than TDK. TDK goes too far away from the source material imo. In all of the talk about TDK being the best Superhero film, it's actually BB that should be in contention, not just defaulting to TDK because it's more popular and might be the better crime movie.

Stop. Never go full retard. TDK is one of the greatest films of all time. BB will never be that level. It’s not a popularity thing, and nobody gives a crap about the source material except nerds like you. Batman movies should be crime movies, not just superhero movies. That’s why Nolan succeeded and everyone else failed and will continue to fail. Batman on the big screen is much better that way
