BB is actually better than TDK.

Agreed. BB is a better and more complete movie.

Although TDK’s first 2 acts were better in some aspects, that movie absolutely and completely falls apart in the last third.

Come to think of it BB also falls apart at the end.

I've always had BB at the top of TDK trilogy. I've always felt TDK is catapulted due to Ledger's performance.

Yep, it's a damn good film. My only issues with it are the fight scenes. Nolan has never been good at those ?

If there's one criticism that most agree on with Nolan, it's his ability to film fight scenes. Idk why he can't do it but they're not good lol

It's like he's way too close up. The Bane sewer fight is incredible though.

I could never get over the third act, which I consider a tonal failure. Nolan tries so damn hard for most of BB feel like a serious drama. It's totally straight-faced. The addition of batman is made to feel "natural" to the city. And then we get our bad guy twist and about as silly a comic book plot as one can get. That seriousness becomes laughable at that point, and it all falls apart for me.

I loved it as a teenager upon release, but it (and the 2 other Nolan batmans) drop a bit lower with every successive rewatch

I grew up like most with the animated series or Burton or god forbid Schumacher.

I was interested when they wanted to reboot the series but didnt know what to expect.

Nolan, Bale...not exactly well known guys at the time

Went to the theater and saw it on initial release and was completely blown away

At first I was like...wtf the Batmobile is a tank? After watching it I was like THE BATMOBILE IS A TANK!!!

Complete opposite for me. I love these films more every time I watch them.

This is the GOAT trilogy for me. IMO three quality movies with 2 being incredible. I prefer TDK, but could understand anyone going with BB as their favorite. I know many here don't like TDKR, but I enjoyed it and still think it's a good movie. Not a clunker like other trilogies had (Spiderman 3, Age of Ultron, X3, etc., TLJ)

It's a movie I like more and more on re-watch. Tom Hardy's Bane is awesome.

I feel the exact same way. I really like rewatching TDKR as much as the others. I like the idea of an older, physically beat up, Batman returning for one last round.

This is not a case of "for one to succeed the other must fail". Both were damn fine movies. In BB, we had to endure yet another origin story of Bruce Wayne's parents..I think by now everyone knows what happened. I also didn't like "The League of Shadows" name being used to replace the original name "League of Assassins". I also feel the third act was a little weak. Still a very good film.

TDK was a rare jewel of damn near perfection in story telling and character development. Looking at the publicity stills of Ledger's Joker didn't do the role justice.

I think it has problems when compared to BB and TDK, but I like it too.

Bane is a great villian. Scenes like the opening plane hijacking, football field, icewalk and the prison escape are all memorable.

The biggest issue is that it strains credulity sometimes, like when Bruce rehabs a broken back with some pushups and situps, and that there are plot holes, like how Bruce gets home and gets all his gear when he's stranded at an anoynymous prison.

If you don't overanalyze it, it's an enjoyable movie with a good villain.

Or like how Bruce travels the world for seven years with no money and manages to remain anonymous for the entirety of his journey?

Same here. It might be the most re-watchable for me.

beyond laughable. Ledger had one of the top 5 performances of our generation. that alone overshadows BB.

So one actors performance makes a film better over all else?

Or like how the Joker is able to place explosives all over a hospital without anyone ever seeing anything. Or like how the Joker was the only one not knocked unconscious by the shock wave at the police station when the bomb went off.

There are many contrivances and conveniences scattered throughout the entire trilogy.

Ledger was just so out of this world mesmerizing.

Yeah, that was my takeaway as well. And it was just a great character
