No, but I'm guessing neither of them had a whitey like Aang as a father. Look at the tree you posted and tell me that Bumi and Tenzin appear to be full-blooded bros. Katara got some'splainin' to do.

The mask is a plot device of some kind for the writers. Amon wears the mask bc he tells the truth and his face is burned or the mask is to hide his identity bc the audience would know he is a past character from the 1st series or someone with a secret identity in the current series.

One thing I feel the shows creators have done a phenomenal job with is creating such a great balance between all of the factions. I really can't think of which bending ability is better than the others. Making the non-benders Chi blockers really gives them a nice element to hold up with the benders.

Not sure about all the guesses so far about the plot this season. I kinda like the idea about some spirit going rouge and giving Amon these powers, makes Korra lack of spiritual side more interesting. She may have to go do some damage in the spirit world. There was that face stealer spirit in TLA so there are some dangerous spirits out there.

I loved the first series so much I was skeptical about how much I would like this new series with how different the setting is and none of the characters from the first one, but these creators have delivered again. I was most disappointed with no Sokka but think the earth bender brother, Bolin, could be a good replacement. There will be a romance connection with Korra and the fire bender brother, Mako. So they pretty much copied the first series so far (siblings, one love affair with the avatar one funny) which I am fine with because it works.

I don't see any reason to assume this anymore than say Darth Vader being masked was. And there's no way Amon is wearing the mask because his face is burned; The most respected man on the planet has a severely burned face, to where I don't think Amon would be looked down on. He just uses that story to gain sympathy from his audience, especially since I think Firebenders still have a stereotype about them that continued after the War.

So you think the Mask is simply a mask, and when the time comes for it to come off, he will simply be just a guy? No burns, no big identity reveal that means anything for the story?

I'm thinking he may be an agent of the Face Stealer to where he doesn't have one. There is some truth to Amon's story in another words. Someone did literally take his face.

Plus how much less terrifying would Amon be without that mask? That speech made me believe that he was staging live executions in front of the audience (even though he basically was by taking away their bending). He's definitely shaping up to be a pretty terrifying villain, especially for a """kid's show""".

Well he has eyes so I don't think he has face stolen.

Yeah good point. Just the "Then he stole my face" line stuck out to me. I'm thinking Oman's speech is 60% lies, 40% truth. I'm just trying to figure out when he's lying and when he isn't.

Just caught part of a the 1st series episode where they call the Avatar the bridge btw the reality and the spirit world. Gave me an idea of another Amon theory.

It's Aang or at least a twisted version of him. Tenzin even said at end of last episode only Aang could take away bending. What if somehow Aang as Avatar crossed back over from spirit world?

No way. He could be "The Anti-Avatar" in many ways, but no way he's Aang. Korra more or less IS Aang. She's his reincarnation.

Not the Aang we knew and loved but some corrupted version of him or at least a spirit using Aangs form.

Korra IS Aang. His reincarnation. Aang can't be two places at once.

4th Episode is up now. Wasn't quite as strong as the first 3, but still very good. First of all Asami may give Jessica Rabbit a run for her money as most attractive female cartoon character of all time, and I just have a gut feeling she's an agent of Amon.

Also have a feeling that Tarlok is bad news for Korra and is more or less this series Long Feng. Plus I feel pretty confident he's being bribed by the triads. Also Amon goes from creepy to fricking terrifying. Can't think of a more unsettling villain in animation right now (at least for this target audience).

It was leaked illegally, so Viacom is doing their best to keep it down. Went to look back where I watched it first, but its gone now.

Just watched 4th episode and definately not as strong as 1st 3 but they all can't be gold.

Liked the brief 4 second flashes to the old gang as adults. Hope we see more of stuff like that.

Am I the only the only one that finds it strange how quickly things developed over 50 years?

Forget cars and the city, cause the first series played it pretty loose with stuff like that but what about bending?

In the original series only like 4 people, non-avatars, could do lightning. Now enough people can do it to power an entire city?!?!

I find it strange that benders don't wear simple armor to protect themselves from chi-blocking.
