I remember years ago one of the writers on AICN trying to get this made into a movie. Not sure he was actually involved in the final release or not.
I thought he was nuts back then and even now I'm not really interested but the trailer almost changed my mind.

Some Chinese company is producing it so it will probably be really stupid. Looks like a big budget Syfy movie.
