Anya Taylor-Joy Movies

after enjoying the Queen's Gambit and seeing her win the Golden Globe (meh) I decided I would check out some of her work as a lead in a movie. I'm hype as anyone for Furiosa but I am curious to see how she does in that much different role. I'd probably rank the movies where she has been a lead that I have seen as follows
1) Emma (7.5/10) - not the type of movie I would normally watch necessarily but she did carry it and did a good job. was enjoyable and for you married folks you could probably score some points with the wifey watching this. Available on HBO Max.
2) The Witch (6.5/10) - this movie flew by even though I didn't understand the overarching theme until afterwards. a couple side actors from Game of Thrones joined her but she was the focal point the whole movie. the ending was a little strange and this movie was an all around slow burn. I enjoyed the movie but it wasn't anything special. Available on Showtime
3) Thoroughbreds (6/10) - her acting was better than in the Witch but the movie was a little more difficult to stayed locked in. This was Anton Yelchin's last performance before his unfortunate passing. Her co-star Olivia Cooke put in a very strong performance as well
Has anyone else watched these and how much did you enjoy them?

Anya and the girl from JoJo Rabbit are the two leads in Edgar Wright's new movie Last Night in Soho coming out this fall

interesting. hope its good. Horror/Thriller isn't usually my type which explains why I never watched Split (that and Glass getting bad reviews)

Split is great. Glass is terrible.

I have to disagree here. The film is a masterpiece and she was tremendous. It put her on the map as a major talent.

She is a dime. They tried to hide her looks in Queen’s Gambit but imo it made her stand out more.

I like all three of these movies, and I think Taylor-Joy is incredible in each of them. As far as Emma goes, the colors and tone are great, but she makes that movie work.

Maybe the most interesting looking girl out there right now and I’m into it.

that's fair, I thought it was an enjoyable movie but I was multitasking while watching and probably missed some stuff. when it ended I was like, already!?

Agree with other poster, The Witch is a masterpiece level movie.
Can't wait for that director's next movie, which Taylor-Joy will be in, The Northman.

She’s beautiful, but god can she please stop losing weight? Any more and she’s going to not be hot.

Didn't realize how many movies I've seen with her in it (Split, VVitch, and Morgan). She's certainly looks to be on the verge of being a breakout star.

The Witch is phenomenal, especially for it being Robert Eggers’ first movie, and Anya Taylor-Joy is great in it. Egrets’ other movie, The Lighthouse, is pretty batshit, but also excellent.

I do not think she is very attractive.. she looks like an alien

She was in New Mutants. Horrible movie but she was hot at least.

I thought New Mutants was ok but it was clear as day they needed some reshoots to make the story flow better. It felt very rushed in parts and seemed like there must have been a major rewrite at some point during filming.
It was also pretty odd that they kind of made Blu Hunt the main character when it was her first movie while the more well known group of Maisie Williams, Anya Taylor Joy, Charlie Heaton, and Henry Zaga were given less to work with.

I did the same. She's a truly remarkable talent.
I liked the TV miniseries The Miniaturist the best of all her previous work, personally.

Wasn’t she in the latest Peaky Blinders season?

Will probably check that out next. Or split
