I’ve never thought she was super hot. She was always “attractive girl you’d check out in the gym” level hot to me.

I was thinking Evangeline Lilly's hair was more on her own merit than Marvel's, as she's had that short length hair for a while, and a quick google search shows she completely buzzed her head in late 2019, I'm guessing for a movie she did with Jason Sudeikis? I do agree though, she looks a lot better with long hair.

I know most of us are making fun, but the short hair does not suit her. I still think she is good looking, but obviously, time has passed since some of those pics.

It feels sorta meh. I would be more excited if it didn't have the stench and feel of any random Disney Marvel TV show.

I got admonished on twitter because I made the unpardonable sin of stating quite correctly that most women can't pull off the short hair look, and that longer hair on women is more attractive. It was a random, general comment, meant mostly as a joke, but not really. The Reeee's could be heard across my twitter feed. I was blocked by one girl I followed, mainly because one of HER friends got all bent out of shape over my comment. I don't think she minded, but hell...

Or better yet, Reed black/Sue white

Why would changing the characters be such a 'win' for you? They're established in the source material. Written as who the writers wanted them to be.

It was never even explained why Sue and Johnny Storm were different races in the last movie, was it? It was a forced and silly decision, and while it wasn't the reason the movie flopped, it didn't help.

Why is race swapping so damn important to the SJW crowd?

Do you think it'll earn you virtue points? Because to the real fans, it doesn't work that way. They want the characters as they were portrayed originally. Or damn near enough.

Can’t answer a simple honest question.

You avoided the topic entirely. Denzel playing a role in a Shakespear play isn't the discussion. It's a challenging role, I suspect, and has been played by 1000's of different actors.

I am not remotely a “SJW,” and “race swapping” is not remotely “important” to me. It just does not bother me, unless the race/ethnicity of a character is innately important to the role or to the story (e.g. an Asian playing a slave in the antebellum South).

The better question is “Why does it bother you so much?”

Denzel not actually being Scottish (or Sue Storm’s race) is as important to the story as whether the tree in the back yard is an oak or an elm, unless an acorn is a key story element.

The White Martyrdom schtick is just tiresome.

Every time I see a SouthEasternKaiju post he’s complaining about seeing too many black people on his TV. Hmm. Is there a name for that personality trait?

It's forced, overdone and often disrespects the source material.

In spots, it makes perfect sense. When race is immaterial to the character. Nick Fury, for example. I don't confess to be a purist or any gatekeeper for Marvel comics, but SLJ as Nick Fury has been nothing short of amazing. (Until Captain Marvel, that is, where they mocked the entire character. Which has zero to do with race).

But Sue and Johnny Storm were written as siblings. Why not Ben as a race swapped...oh, wait. Can't have an POC lose their physical appearance to become some massively strong brutish character. And that's what I mean 'where it makes sense'. Being overly sensitive as well as oblivious to where and when it's done shows a focus not on the story but more towards The Message.

Then you have a perception problem, and only see things as you want to see them.

This has never been my position, and you're lying, outright.

Gaslighting much? You do know we all see your posts, right? Maybe just give the race-complaining a rest for a while and then people might take you seriously.

I'll not be intimidated with false accusations of racism when it comes to speaking my mind. You have no grasp of what is being discussed and have shown that you only see what you want to see.
