bro, are you really this stupid?
Yes. I'm stupid enough to recognize that the way these rewrites, reshoots, and budgets are covered is very dependent on geek websites' preconceived feelings for or vibes about a film.
Marvel has been open about ditching ideas that aren't working at the script phase and even into production. No one cared when every marvel film was hitting. Even now, the daredevil show scrapped the whole season while it was being filmed. It will end up being a massively expensive season of television that took about as long to come out as the new Captain America. But people remember the netflix daredevil fondly and really want this new season to be good. Our resident marvel/disney doom accountants will give these issues a pass unless the finished product seriously disappoints. Daredevil is getting the benefit of the doubt where Captain America is not -- both sight unseen, and both with similar issues.
After reshoots, each of the last Avengers films cost around $400 million. They didn't suffer covid and strike delays that caused budgets to explode, as Captain America and The Marvels did. They were spending almost $100 million per film on reshoots as they were rewriting large chunks of the script on the fly. This has been the marvel process for over a decade. It was something you all liked through Endgame. No one pretended be disney finance masters, chastising Marvel for its inefficient filmmaking process, even though the spending was obviously out of control.
So yeah, people get worried about Marvel delays and reshoots when they want to be worried about delays and reshoots. I know Captain America had a ton. As I am not a disney shareholder, and I just want some good movies to watch, I'll wait until this comes out to decide if those reshoots were worth it, or a problem, or not.

We could have avoided the snap if S.H.I.E.L.D just sent a social worker instead of The Avengers.

I love Mackie, but him as Cap will be just like Sam as Cap in the comics.
Boring, try hard, and ultimately wildly unpopular.
This movie should force them to scrap the Cap, or recast Steve.

Pretty sure this film started filming after falcon/winter soldier, no?
That would be post covid

The last movie with this level of bullshite, was Justice League, and this movie will likely cost multiples more.
This movie may end up being the most expensive movie ever made, and will likely need to top a billion dollars to break even, after marketing.

Jay Are is just being his usual shite stirring contrarian self.
I mean the McDonalds toys for the movie got released in spring earlier this year

I mean how do you do reshoots AFTER trailer #2 comes out?
Has this ever happened before in a major studio release?
Even Justice League did reshoots before the 2nd trailer

They had him doing a landing that created a sonic boom in the trailer. That's some combat training
Not that it matters in a comic book movie, but that is not how sonic booms work.

That makes zero sense. It's PR spin, and nothing more. The studio knew they had to come up with some answer, and this is the best they could come up with. Pathetic.

Louisiana Legend
What? That doesn't even make any sense.
Good actor, seems like a decent guy. But legend?
FFS. he's not Denzel, or the late James Earl Jones.
Future legend? Maybe.

think I read that his new suit is vibranium from Wakanda - which means they'll at least have a built in reason for him not getting pulped by superpowered people and his knees not shooting straight up through his skull the first time he lands.
yeah, if you didn't see the Falcon and Winter Soldier, they gave him the new suit towards the end of the series and it still has his wings and shite.

This is a movie that has been on shaky ground in a franchise that has lost its way. They would have to absolutely nail it as well as they did with CA: Winter Soldier

Why didn’t they just give him the super soldier serum? Wouldn’t that have just made it way easier.

Who knows. Maybe it just felt like too much black washing

He's a legend for me just for doing the voice over of the best hype video I've ever seen.

Disney screwed him though.
I absolutely like the character and actor but Disney made him real unlikeable at the end of F&WS.
Unnecessarily. The real world and MCU would accept him as CA. Only in the fictional world that the Disney screenwriters created in their mind would there be pushback at a black CA.

DEI Capt. America. They should have made Bucky Barnes Cap.
