Good news/bad news - the novel it is based on is the first of a trilogy.
But, my initial experience with Garland was Ex Machina - I read the rave reviews, watched it with sky high expectations and came away really impressed by essentially every frame of the film.
Interesting that I watched About Time and Ex Machina almost back-to-back - both movies in the science fiction genre (although About Time only nominally) and both starring Domhnall Gleeson.

Liked the books a lot, really excited to see what Alex Garland will keep the same and change to make it his own.
I am curious if they plan to make the whole trilogy and if they will use different directors for each.

ill watch anything that Garland has his paws on. Ex Machina is such a well-made and well-written film (and an all-timer for me), and I love almost everything he's written. Guy is a winner
trailer was awesome and didnt give anything away

I read an article yesterday where Garland said he is only doing one film. I'm not sure if that means this will be a stand alone movie or they will bring someone else in for the others, but he said he doesn't like doing a series of movies.

Makes me wish he'd get a hold of Rendezvous with Rama.

Don't care what its about or who is in it.
I'm in. With a semi-chub in my pants.
Ex Machina might be in my top 5 ever.

The last decade or so has been incredible for great, ambitious sci-fi films.

It's really rare when people moving around, coughing, etc don't take me out of a movie. Seeing Ex Machina for the first time was one of those rare occasions where a large gunfight outside the theater couldn't have broken my attention. I was so transfixed.
I also love how genius 28 Days Later is. It was/is a masterpiece in its genre before the market became so oversaturated with zombie content.
