. It seems Jessica Lange’s Elsa Mars has an identical twin as well. Or at least, that’s what the show’s writers want us to believe. Those who watched closely may have noticed that during Elsa singing “Life on Mars,” the camera briefly cut to a depressed looking woman in a clown uniform who intently watched the performance unfold. Oh yeah, and she just so happened to look exactly like Elsa. All together now: WHAT THE WHAT?!?! Seriously, did we all just collectively have a stroke and envision a world with two Jessica Langes? (I mean, I’m not complaining or anything. I’m simply checking, you know… for health reasons.) Honestly though, in no way did I see this twist coming. And take it from someone who’s watched that big reveal at least 10 times, it doesn’t get any less confusing. I guess Elsa wasn’t lying when she made this rather ominous remark to Meryl Streep’s daughter, er, Penny the Candy Striper. And something tells me we’re only just getting started. But for now, this vision by itself is more than enough to keep our imaginations running amuck. First, it’s unclear if this unnamed woman — let’s call her Elsa 2.0 — is even watching the performance live since there seems to be a projector rolling right next to her. If that’s the case, then this could possibly still be Elsa, though that wouldn’t explain the clown-like get-up and gloomy expression on her face. So if this really is Elsa’s twin sister, who else knows about her?

The clown getup on elsa2.0 signals to me there's some "connection" to killer clown...maybe her son??? Husband??
I'm sure we'll find out soon enough

Awesome. But man even the way he runs is truly terrifying.

It looked like the "Elsa in the audience" was Elsa watching her performance back on film. It looked like the film was flickering on her face like it did when she showed the Candy Striper the freak sex tape.

I can see a lot of good areas for it to go and be a good season. Will they do it? Who knows.
Yup... Just like last season. The opening scene with Bates and the slaves in the attic was the best scene out of the entire season. Had they kept it somewhat realistic (voodoo magic and not teen witch craft) and gone the dark horror route like that scene, it could have been fantastic. But we all know how last season turned out.
Same with this. The clown angle has so much potential, but I have a feeling they will abandon it and go another route, just like Season 3
Btw, who in the frick made the final call on the dub over? The audio and music that played for 75% of the show was horrible and WAY too loud.

Been meaning to ask the thread...how was the premiere?
FWIW, my only connection to AHS was last season, and I gave up on it after about 6 or 7 episodes because it was so fricking bad. I do own season one though since I've heard it's by far the best; I just haven't watched it yet.
Also, I watched Carnivale (HBO) about a year or so ago and I fricking loved it...didn't know if that would help, but this seems to be in a similar vein as Carnivale since it surrounds a freak show of sorts.

It was okay. Much better than any episode last season. But, the premiere spent a lot of time setting the story up, which made it slow.
frick. THAT. CLOWN.

You'll get divided opinions. I thought it was excellent. Great mix of set up and action throughout with a solid ending.
If you're an old school horror genre fan, you'll love it. Lot's of references to old horror movies and directors. For instance, low talking and back ground music setting up your mind for a silent scare.
It started slowly, but really picked up as it got going. There was a good deal of introduction and set up, but there were some awesome scenes as well. It ended on a great scene. I really enjoyed it.
This season is set up to be badass.

Fantastic, and the best part of the show is you dont need to watch every season.
on another note:

seriously though. frick that clown.
This is hilarious, by the way:
America's biggest professional clown club bashes AHS

I guess there really is no group left on the planet that won't get offended. Sheesh.
