Fell asleep 10m into it. Woke up in the middle and watched a little more.
Looked like it had some potential, but also had some
moments. I'll go back and watch it on the DVR, but will likely have to watch another episode or two before making a decision on continuing.
Still CANNOT stand Sarah Paulson
Yeah Yeah, siamese twins are real, but the way it was done just looks cheesy and then having to see two of her stupid face make me want to hit her with a shovel.

Does the clown have a backstory?
Episode 5 is the clown's story.

Without the clown I would have been bored to death. I guess they need to set everything, but man, cmon.
Disappointed so far. Well see how it goes.

I thought last episode was done well. They had to set everything up. And they has a few solid references to older horror movies and the horror genre in general. They left you with the freaks coming together as vicious savage cult murderers and the clown watching them all. It's set up to he a good season.
As for the bad accents and the background noise, it's a nod to old school horror movies. They used to do that on purpose to get your mind thrown off before they hit you with a scare. So your mind is trying to concentrate on the screen and then the clown shows up and you flip. I seriously doubt it continues like that all season.

I agree Breesus.
There honored old horror indirectly throughout the episode and directly with scenes and lines (i.e. "She's one of us now..." from Freaks) Also pretty intriguing to tie into previous seasons and characters.
I didn't read this whole thread so not sure if discussed but, the writer said there are hints at next seasons plot/setting in Ep 1 and 2. I think those hints were a little too obvious.
I'm a little concerned FS opens too many plot lines similar to Asylum just for the sake of shock value. I love twisty and can't figure out if he's protector or destroyer to Elsa yet. Can't wait to see more.
Also, isn't doogie howser in this season?

He's in the works to make a 1-2 episode appearance.
What were the clues to next season? I didn't find out about that until after the episode.

elsa rides in on a rocket ship, sings about mars, there was a line about "another world" in there somewhere....
I think space/aliens/event horizon type season is next

The article I read said the clues were packed into the first 5-10 minutes.

I get not liking the show, as it is campy as all hell, but boring? In the span of 90 minutes, the show had a Tupperware party for finger banging, a killer clown murder three people and abduct two others, a Candy-striper abducted from her job, hooked on opium, and forced into a pron film with freaks, cojoined twins murder their mother followed by an attempt to cover it up, Jessica Lange putting on way too much makeup and doing a David Bowie song while the freaks acted as techies to move props, Frances Conroy being Frances Conroy, and Kathy Bates attempting what seemed to be a Bawl'mer accent. Oh, and there was a ritualistic murder of a police officer by the carnies while the killer clown looked on from the merry go round.
I mean, there are a lot of words I'd use to describe AHS, but boring ain't one of them.
