They're introducing so much new stuff every week that it's hard to keep track of everything, but it's awesome.
Im rewatching it again right now. I think the wife from the 20s shot herself back in the day and wanted to come back to see the house....or maybe she was always there.

Um she didn't. As in she put the gun in her mouth and the bullet came out f the back of her head. If she was shot in the back of the head then the skin would wouldn't have been flapped outwards

i agree with the thing in the basement being the doctors baby and maybe the doctor is the man in black and wanted to impregnate viv because he didnt like his original child?
also constance gave him the idea to put up that gazebo remember? so she must have knew what was going to happen and gave him that idea so the maid's body would never be found thus her soul could never rest

Wait...I thought the ghost with the hole in the head was the girl that got the abortion in 1922, not the doctor's wife.

Also...Was anyone else wondering why they never showed Viv telling anyone about the girl just disappearing from her kitchen? Thought that was weird. I would expect her to be freaking out and telling her husband or something.

I'm sorry guys, but it's really hard to read this thread and see you guys piece it all together but have either delayed links or misteps in your logic.
I'll take it as an in-game thread, where you're discussing the show on commercial breaks or something.
1- The doctor was performing secretive abortions. How do you not know what that actress was there for in 1922.
2 - We saw a really kid/toddler/baby in the basement on the premier episode. The only one we've seen so far is the Doc's kid. SO I think that is the ghost. Maybe the kid in the pictures too.
3 - Yes, now we know the jars are there from the Doc's sick/twisted Frankenstein-esque obsession. We also know why there are fetuses in the jars as well.
4 - Dylan McDermott gets shite on so much in this show
. 5 - The maid is stuck there because her bones will never be found. In the episode it stated that guys see what they want to see and women see to the soul. So she's young to guys and old to women. She seems to be good-natured and well-behaved as an old one too. Sad that she died for being forced to have sex with.
6 - Lange seems to be alive. So is her daughter. We still don't know what was up with her and her son and why she can see ghosts.
7 - Burning man killed his family in the house and survived, and now killed Kate Mara. He needs $1000 but his intentions are still a secret.
8 - The town has a history of of violence and tragedy.
9 - There is a demented creature in the basement. That scares people to death or scratches and grey hair.
10 - Violet likes the house because she's a rebel emo teenager.
Questions:
- How long until they realize the house is haunted? They have to be suspicious.
Other points: The only 2 gingers on the show were the twins in the premier episode. You can consider the mom one too, I'll give you that. But after that, the rest have red or orange hair. They aren't gingers. Thank you.

Whats the purpose of McDermott being so cut up in this show? He's a 50 year-old psychiatrist. He looks like he is about to go model underwear. Very unbelievable.
