Before she got shoveled I thought she was possessed or something because she was pretty stable before this episode and all of a sudden she went bat shite crazy

I can't believe I haven't brought this up but...Does Hayden come back as a ghost? She has the same scenario as the maid.
I also think that the finale will have Connie Britton enter the basement, the site of the abortions.

if she starts appearing infront of his wife shits really going to hit the fan. But, I've honestly got a feeling that the doc's ghost wife has taking a liking to Ben's wife for sure. Especially since she's with child.

I'm talking about connie. The doc's wife eyes lit up when connie said she has a kid on the way.

No doubt. I'm feeling fairly confident that the creepy lil thing in the basement is the doctor's baby-- after whatever crazy pig fusion surgery he decided to perform on the kid.

We now know that the neighbor next door killed the maid at a young age and I'm assuming that she bared her in the backyard ( that's why the maid was crying at the end)
They showed scraps of a maids uniform with the skeleton. Clearly Moira's remains.

That would explain the mother saying "I once had a child"

I get my blondes confused, but I could swear that ghost was of the woman who had the abortion, not the abortion doctor's wife.
Right?
I need to see the episode again.

The ghost is the doctor's wife.

I'm a NOOB to this board, but I have been following this thread to help try and make sense of this show. Warning - Long read
The post of the time line is the key to piecing together this puzzle. However, we need to double check the dates.
I'm going to edit the Wildtigercat93 timeline post.
1978 - Twins go into the house (abandoned, not burned / assumed because of the nurse murders in 1968) and get killed in the basement as the show opens. Adelaide was a kid outside staring at the house and tells the twins they are going to die in there.
However, since the nurse murders were in 1968, not 1973, the house was either abandoned for 10 years prior to the twins deaths (1978), or something else took place during that time.
I checked this date and it is actually 1983.
Adelaide outside the abandoned house in 1978 confuses me. It doesn't make logical sense for Adelaide to live next door in 1978 (twins murdered), then live in the house (restored) in 1983 when Constance shoots her (assumed husband) and Moira.
This timeline suggests that Constance and Adelaide never owned the house, but always the one next door. This doesn't mean that she didn't shoot them in the house. We know that Constance has a penchant for going inside the home uninvited and could have caught and killed them there. Whe know that she burried Moira there.
We know the burned guy (Larry) set fire to the house and his family at some point. It is assumed that he is alive, released from prison because he has terminal brain cancer (very odd). I think if he is alive, then he burned the house post-1983 and before the most recent owners (2 guys) moved in and restored the house.
We can assume that Tate is Constance's first child. She says that she should have stoped after her first. All but one of her children have some physical malady, but she loses him to "other things". Likely, Tate somehow becomes entangled with the evil in the house.
You keep discussing who is a ghost and who isn't. It isn't this black and white. Think Poltergiest. You have to consider the likelihood of supernatural beings whom are a mixture of both.
Pretend you were a bored kid living next door to an abandoned mansion. You would have gone in to explore and Tate likely did so. He becomes an evil being trapped in the house.
What happened to Constance's other 2 children? I thought for a moment that they may have been the red headed twins. Constance said her husband looked like Van Johnson (Red Head). However, while destructive, the twins didn't seem to have a physical malady.
I agree with the Doctor/abortionist and his baby theories discussed in this thread. This is the origin of the eveil entity in the basement. However, the nurses in 1968 didn't seem to be affected at all by living in the evil house.
Constance is tortured every day, trying to get her son back, or to help him move on. She and Tate think that Ben can do this. Make no mistake, being so closely related to the house has made her an evil individual.
Constance and Adelaide are able to appear in the house so often and so easily because they have simply been doing it for years. They know all the ways in. (Possible secert entrys in an old house like this)
Adelaide is child like, therefore, she is able to play with the baby / demon entity in the basement without fear. She knows the evil of the house and trys to warn people (twins in 1978 / Connie Britton today).

1922- Plastic surgen builds house and murders girls during backdoor plastic surgery
Rest of story unknown. Wife got shot on the back of the dome
1973- break in murders

I don't think you should be confused. I think you should assume from the facts given that she killed her husband and the maid in her house, which is next door to the murder house. Also, in the opening shot, the car looks to be parked next to the murder house, then the shot moves in on the house before the scene with the husband and maid. Not sure if it was done to be deliberately confusing or not...
