i think the guy in the gimp suit who screwed the wife in episode one is actually the guy that constance was trying to screw in the 2nd episode.

I am not sure, because during that attack he was shown watching it from behind Violet as it happened. I think he brings victims down to whatever is down in the basement, just like he brought one of the invaders down to the basement last night to unleash something on her. But, he killed the other one upstairs.

I think Adelaide has far more power than anyone suspects. She seems to be the only one who can literally control the House. I think her mom fears her more than she let's on. Just an early theory.
I also think they tried to poison Violet as revenge for grabbing Adelaide in Ep 1. Hurt my daughter, I hurt yours. However, I don't think they hate Connie Britton. In the conversation, Lange clearly showed she hated the dad -- I don't like HIM not them. She also tried to prevent Connie from eating the poison cupcake and of course helped against the invaders.
The family is collateral damage. It is the father they are out to destroy, after they have used him for what they need.

There is so much going on you can't help but be sucked in to this show. The last episode did drop a little of the completely weird events of the first one and started unfolding the stories nicely. I'm glad the whole show isn't going to be a bunch of really weird random stuff and actually be a really complex storyline.
