I just watched it. I think it's pretty clear that tate, the next door lady, adelaide, and the maid are different than the rest of the "demons/ghosts" in the house.

Towards the end, tate and the 2 ladies are standing over the dead bodies and tate says "we need to clean this up if we want him to still work on me".

I'm not sure what this line could possibly indicate. I think the house definitely has these spirits (crazy thing that cut the girl from school, the 2 nurses, not sure what else) and somehow tate and the 2 ladies are controlling them.

ETA it is clear that tate and the 2 ladies need this family for some reason.

I wonder why Jessican Lange wanted to poison Violet specifically with those cupcakes?

What's up with that?

So,the guy who built the house in the 20's was apparently some doctor/surgeon to the stars... I'm guessing this cat was cutting up babies and that's what was in the jars in the opening scene of the pilot? Was he performing abortions on the DL? Does the fact that Friday Night Lights woman is preggers tie into this somehow?

WTF is that thing in the basement and why is it dressed like a baby?

Well i'm guessing you haven't watched the second episode yet. If y'all notice...the pilot episode starts in 1971 when the house is abandoned and looks like shite. But, in the second episode it's 1968 and from what i gather after the murder of the nurse & the virgin girl I'm sure people didn't want to live in that house for a while.

What will be interesting is if in future episodes the timeline plots jump all the way back to the 30's and 40's.

I think as the series moves along that we'll see that the house has all sorts of history.

I watched it. I'm just thinking wacky shite was going on in that house well before '68. Those wall murals they uncovered seemed like they'd have been there a while and that's some pretty odd decor by my standards.

The baby parts in the jars, etc., I would expect to be something the spirits put there to pique the two carrot tops' curiosity-- much like the tub in episode 2. But they have some bearing on the story, especially considering the creepy baby photos in the opening credits... My guess is that this shite goes back to the original homeowner and that he was the one with the baby lab.

Same thing I was thinking to myself. I was asking my girlfriend, "what kid wouldn't get the hell out of there on the double", then I remembered some of the stupid shite I did when I was a kid and promptly shut up.

just finished watching the 2nd episode. Im defiantly hooked to this series.

I think there's more to the area of the hauntings than just the house now. There's the yard, neighbors house, and parts of the neighborhood where the bodies were deposited.


We need to set up a list of who's a ghost and who's not, and their relationship.\

Addy isn't a ghost. Ghosts don't age. Unless she died recently and is hanging out with her mom and finding ways into the house.

I want to know if the burned guy is a ghost or not. Probably is.



IDEAS:

-Maybe Tate has gone soft due to the girl being in the house, so Lange is trying to get rid of the girl to bring Tate to full-blown mad house.

-Lange wants another kid, so she is finding ways in to manipulate the family to get what she wants by splitting them up.

I think so too, but I think Tate is in a teenager state because he likes the girl. And Lange wants him to go to full throttle.
