I can't believe it took me so long to figure out who Wednesday is. Something about the last episode (with Vulcan) finally made it click.

This show has been all over the place so far, but I'm still digging it.

I'm sticking with it, but I need a new god vs old god throwdown pretty soon. Wednesday finally killing somebody was refreshing. Was beginning to think Odin was a bitch

I was cool with the last episode.
I thought the Vulcan scenes were great.
And them Texas/New Mexico boys killing hey-zues was pretty crazy.
The leprechaun is hilarious only calling Laura "dead wife".

Yeah Mad Sweeney is far and away the best part of the show IMO

The only problem I had with the whole Vulcan thing was they chose the wrong group to portray as gun loving, firearm related violence worshiping racists. Sure, middle America is chock full of people who love guns and largely white dominated populations. But if they wanted to be accurate, and choose a section of society that actually USES guns to kill THOUSANDS every year and HATES other races and homosexuals, they would have used an inner city gang. I know that's not PC, and they could never actually air that, but statistically and realistically it would have been closer to the truth. Instead of a small Midwestern town filled with middle class white people with guns, for a portrayal closer to real life a 10x10 block of Chicago's southside and 17-22 year old black males would have been perfect.

Also, showing a bunch of border patrol agents massacring a dozen illegal immigrants really paints a horribly skewed picture of that particular problem. Most of those poor people that die do so from crooked coyotes, drowning, dehydration, or car accidents. I mean Jesus, the last President signed off on a plan to arm Mexican drug cartels, only to have those narcos turn around and murder a BPA.

In fact, unlike the book, this show has gone out of it's way to shite all over America. In the novel, the country was this kind of charmed, weirdly enchanted setting with it's own personality. HBO's version has none of that.

It's on Starz not HBO, but I agree. Just finished the season, and while a very weird show I like where it's headed. I'm kind of confused on who Mr. Nancy is supposed to be, and who the new gods represent. I know Agent Scully represents media, but I'm not sure who the kid and Mr. World are supposed to represent.

Damn that was a great finale.

I love the arc that they've Mad Sweeney has gone through the past couple of episodes. I think he's become a sympathetic character now.

I hope we get tons more of Kristin Chenoweth next season. You cant take your eyes off her in any scene she is in.

I would like more Jesus as well, but I dont know how he would even fit into the story since he really isnt a forgotten god.

Might have to buy the book and read it.

Plus war really isn't Jesus's thing. On a side note it's hard for me to take this Jesus serious since all I see is dickie Bennett from justified.

The kid is the tech god internet technology god, mr. World represents the globalization of everything he's basically the sellout god that rules our world. Great series so far lots of symbolism and history.

Ghetto gangs don't own/run major weapon factories.

Vulcan's power was derived from creating/branding the ammo. Basically everyone/thing in the world killed by a Vulcan round was a sacrifice to him. If he just ran a gang with Random weapons, then he wouldn't have nearly as many sacrifices.

I love the Odin reveal and Ostera.

Like always the visuals are amazing.

Mr. Nancy is Anansi...the African trickster God. If you haven't read it, Anansi Boys is almost like the follow-up to American Gods. Good book.

In a dead heat with all of Gillian Anderson's Media incarnations, IMO. From Lucy to Bowie to Scarlett O'Hara....

After the finale I think shadow is the worst part.. not his fault as an actor.. just not anything interesting about him.

And the fact that every other character is phenomenal! Wednesday, Easter, Sweeney, anzasi, media, dead wife... they are all fantastic! Well acted

I haven't read it but in the books Mad Sweeny dies and vagina god dies in book 1 but it looks like the show is setting them up to both be major players
