What an amazing film. I can watch it multiple times. I ran around with people like that for a short while. Dude was a freaking boss at 18 years old. Casting was perfect.

I mean I know this is the MTV board so you may just be talking about the movie
but you refer to him as a freaking boss .He only thought he was in charge but what was he in charge of?
I mean I know early on in the actual criminal career he was dealing weed and doing so on a grand scale made a lot of money
but that was never controlled people refusing to pay him that was always about to implode he made money at the same time his entire organization was out of control
he wasn't boss of anything he was just making the most money

Great fuggin movie.
RIP x2. Anton Yelich and the dude he played (Zack Mazursky). He would have had a solid career if not for that tragic accident.
Ben Foster played the psycho brother so damn well. That may have been my introduction to him.
Emile Hirsch is an interesting actor. I can't tell if I really like him or I just really like the movies I've seen him in. Alpha Dog, Lords of Dog Town, Girl Next Door, Savages, Lone Survivor.
Timberlake is overhated in his acting. I thought he played his character well in this. His NSYNC days and how the industry presented him during that frosted tips pop culture look overshadowed his acting ability. He's not oscar worthy by any means, but in all his roles I've seen him play his acting comes off pretty smooth.

JT is on par with ed norton. Minimally awarded and just pretty capable all around. Hes not magic, just does the job effectively.

Probably one of the most heartbreaking endings of all time. Tremendously acted by Yelich.

If you know or followed the actual story, Hirsch knocked it out of the park. When I first saw the movie I always wondered why they made him be such a little bitch, but that’s exactly what Hollywood was like in real life. He was your typical 5’6”, little man syndrome, but dad was a local sorta kingpin so everyone sort of respected him as a small time tough guy.
I enjoyed Timberlake’s character. Thought he had some funny one liners.

I've always wondered why Timberlake's character received life in prison based on this film. He didn't appear to do anything different than Tiko and Keith.

He was eligible for parole after 7 years and didn’t serve much time after that. Rugge has been out several years now.
I’m actually surprised Hollywood got life without parole seeing how it was all hearsay and he wasn’t even present for most of the antics or murder. Guess it had to do with fleeing and not cooperating.

Idk why, but I always really enjoyed this movie every time I watched it.
Good assessment. I pretty much agree with it all.

I think Edward Norton is a bit better of an actor than Justin Timberlake

Ben Foster just seems like a psycho/bad guy in every movie. He plays it well though.

He plays a great villain. He was great in 3:10 to yuma also.

I think the most acting a lot of these actors do is acting nice and humble in interviews

Also the Hollywood kid (Truelove in the movie) got married in prison a few years ago. Apparently the movie made him popular and women are fame addicts. For some reason I followed the real story way too closely.
