I like Slovenia guy as well. And the guy from Portugal who’s had wild game all around him so far.

I can tell already I’ll be fast forwarding through 90% of Jacks shite.

It’s just dumb for anyone with two toddlers to go on this show. I get it’s a once in a lifetime opportunity and you want to go, but any decent father is going to struggle being away from kids and leaving the burden on his wife while he’s away for that long. And you have to remember even though it’s Day 3, they’ve been out there for like 2 weeks already.

My daughter watched that with me. She said if I ever have a chance for big money & I quit over missing her for a few days NOT to come home.

I'm raising a winner.

My wife said the same thing as we watched the guy tap out on day 3.

The guy that tapped in episode one was one of the biggest pussies to ever be on the show. Just absolutely ridiculous.

They should have it in the contract that if you become a giant pussy in the first week you have to pay a fine I was legit hot after the episode and wanted to fight this guy. When he was leaving he weas doing the justification thing like they all do and trying to act like he's not a vagina and was like "No real father would leave his family for an extended period of time." GTFO. Why did you go on the show and take a spot from someone actually deserving if that's how you felt? Ugh, pisses me off.

The girl in EP1 might be the most annoying girl on the show ever as well.

She's already complaining but It starts sprinkling on day two and her sleeping bag gets wet.... Crying "Uuuuuuuuhhhhhh I don't want to tap out over this!!!!!!" You mean you signed up for Alone, and your sleeping bag getting slightly damp is going to almost make you tap out? Did you not expect it to rain the entire time you are there?

Every season people tapping for no reason really pisses me off

Felt bad for the principle in EP2 that tapped because of his ferro rod. I think he actually would have done pretty good out there. Seeing the beaver get bopped on the head was a little cringe worth though, yeesh.

Ferro rod burning up so early is an absolute gut punch. But dude could have certainly pivoted to keep his fire going & start building up a fire wood pile + started some trunk chunks to help extend his existing fire.

Quitting straight up was weak & lame. Show your skills & win the $$$

I watch this show just because my 73 year old mother loves to talk about it. At this point and after last season the people they pick is completely on the show. I suppose they are trying not to find people that just dominate and end up with the leftovers

A couple seasons ago a guy lost his ferro rod early on and just phoned it in. I would try to get a fire going until I didn’t have any skin left on my hands before just quitting that early. These people supposedly spend months if not years training for this.

Can't believe the young guy tapped out like a bitch. That almost seemed fake it was so ridiculous.
He was building an awesome teepee, and he was eating well. Don't understand it. To be fair i didn't listen to his reasoning. i fast forward when someone starts acting like a bitch this early as i have zero desire to hear what excuses they have to say.

At the start of the episode I would have said he was a top contender. But by the middle of the episode his language changed and I said ugh o, he's going soon.

I really wanted to see his teepee but he went too big. The weather started changing and he realized he made a mistake with the size. That mistake kind of emotionally broke him. I don't think it was fake, those were a lot of real tears. And I think that was two weeks in so not a crazy early tap out.

Glad this episode didn't have any of the Jacks chick in it. Man she is annoying.

Went back to the other Alone thread and saw who i picked just off the descriptions....

quote:

Didn't watch the videos but just reading the profile description I'll take a wild guess and say Nero and Clementino last a good while. And that Ziga doesn't win (didn't pick a ferro rod ) or Jacks (stay at home dad with a bunch of kids he'll be missing).

Nero is doing good. Clementino too but not liking his language this last episode so not sure he's mentally tough enough. Turns out Jacks is a girl

That was a great episode.

While that beaver and its fat is going to give Nero a good month of food, Ziga now has enough food to last him until next winter with that moose. He’s got a ton of work ahead of him dressing that huge animal and preserving all that meat.

Love that Nero let that bunny go as well. I’m sure that will put his mind in a real good place for some time. If he can catch more fish and rabbits and have a good cache of them with his beaver fat and meat then he will have enough food to last a good while out there and compete with Ziga and his moose.

Yes, that was a good episode. But it says a lot about this season that we are weeks in and still on page 1.

I like that they are mostly being able to get food. I always find their shelters the most interesting part of the show. They all build them so different, but there have been quite a few really good ones.

I agree. My favorite part as well. I wish the show would spend more time on them.

i always like one that is slightly dugout. It can be a lot of work but in the right conditions that is the ideal shelter to me, something that you can use the earth as your insulator. I also think you have to build something you can stand up in, even if you just have a small area where you can stand. You're going to spend a lot of time inside this shelter once the snow starts, so you better make it as comfortable as you can.

I'm also very nervous about these guys making ffreplaces out of wood and mud. I get it will work, but they are going to have to likely reapply some mud every so often as i just cant see the mud preventing the wood from catching on fire when you are using it all day and night for several weeks. I guess there weren't a lot of stones up there for them to build it out of rocks and mud.

very interested to see what Ziga is going to build to store all his meat. Hope he paid attention and got some notes from Roland on how he built his bear proof meat locker. That moose probably has close to 400lbs of meat on it. The next 4-5 days are going to be exhausting for him with everything he has to do with that moose.

Talking about the guy who found a tub on the first day or two and decided to have a warm bath and lost his ferro rod in the process?

I think the producers of Alone must have read our previous seasons threads.

This season has been fantastic.

Very minimal "emotional" talks/chats by the fire. Lots more hunting and focusing on building shelters.

Ziga's two day long hunt of the elk might have been the best episode in the shows history. Certainly one of the best. That was absolutely intense and why most love this show. Roland killing the 800lb musk ox with his knife was hard to beat but this was great.

Glad he was able to harvest all of it because I thought some wild animal was going to get on when it was left out overnight.

Hopefully he works on his shelter now because now that he had to move camp it is by far the weakest shelter of all those remaining and it's about to be getting cold. I think I'd also build a smoke house if I was him too and be making as much elk jerkey as possible every day.

The amount of beavers killed this season is definitely a record. And they aren't really showing them killed off screen, it's showing people rare the ax back and pop them Even as a hunter some of those scenes were a little hard to watch.

I agree. that was awesome. He was so fortunate that it went back across that lake back to where his shelter was. Having to pack out 600lbs of meat 3 miles would have been crazy.

He's got a lot of work ahead of him making something bear proof to keep all that meat, preserving that meat, and also building his shelter. Good thing he's got a ton of meat to keep his energy levels up. Hopefully he's got plenty of berries and other foraging food he's stored up.
Whatever makeshift thing he did to protect the meat better not be his long term solution b/c that meat is going to get taken by plenty of different animals if he leaves it like that.

yuck of an episode.
Outside of Aaron missing the moose, whole bunch of storytelling from Jacks and Will while doing nothing.
Hopefully we can get Jacks out of the next episode early on and then focus on the 4 remaining people who are actually interesting b/c of their survival skills and not trying to entertain me with their sob stories.

Didn't see Nero or Ziga at all in this one, although the preview shows Ziga discovering some rotten meat. He's got to smoke what good meat he has left.

Just as I was complementing the show that they cut back on this an episode pops up that is half storytelling time. As soon as Jacks started her story i knew it was going to be a long story about her getting raped. Hate it for her, but I skipped it.

Then you have the Australian dude talking about him and all Australians are not able to be in tune with the land because they were colonizers. So because some people 200+ years ago kicked out some aboriginal tribes all current day Australians can't be in tune with their homeland. Makes total sense.

Aaron missing a moose from 20 yards away And I don't remember them showing him losing arrows but I guess that was his last broadhead. The moose didn't even run off. Just stood there staring at him.

I can't believe he didn't start doing that immediately. Should be a big priority right now. But he sill has a very weak camp that doesn't look water tight or warm at all.
