Alien movie series question

Through the whole series, the "company" did everything they could to try and attain a live alien specimen.
For what exactly? I know for weaponizing, but how? You can't make an army of these creatures, or could you? I guess they could release the alien creatures onto populations they want to destroy.. could that be it?
But to try and use the biology of the creature for weaponizing... how? The only thing the creature has is concentrated acid for blood. We already have strong, concentrated acid available. So they don't really need that.
How exactly would the company use the alien creatures?

The fact that they can grow 100x their size very quickly without eating seems to defy the laws of physics and biology. Perhaps that's why they were a prize catch to the scientists back home?
Although I believe there was a deleted scene in the original film where the crew spent a few days hunting the little chestburster and discovered that it had hidden in the pantry and eaten all of the food stores.

Regular people aren't meant to be able to answer this.

Valid question, but let’s chaulk this up to a plot hole, or more likely, a plot omission. They’re thinking creatures, sure, but it doesn’t seem like they listen very well or would have any reason to go along with being told what to do. Maybe one of the newer productions will provide an answer.
The “company” should be doing whatever it takes to find David. He destroyed an entire planet and bioengineered several horrific species from Shaw’s female anatomy. And… he’s technically not alive, so he can withstand much of what would kill humanity. David is the true “weapon” of the Alien franchise, not the xenomorphs themselves.

Alien series rivals Star Wars series for plot holes. I always get a laugh at Star Wars nerds trying to explain them away.

i think the intended answer in the original movie was probably for some bioweapon purpose. Sprinkle a few eggs into a hostile area and watch the devastation from afar.
I would also imagine the alien would be of interest in fields outside of the weapon department. A lot of medicine and tech we have comes from studying real living organisms here on earth. something so new and different could be a goldmine of said discoveries.
im gonna dork out now, forgive me. in the expanded universe items there are projects that the "company" has that attempt control of the creatures through psionics.
Also in the expanded universe stuff is the substance royal jelly the queen creates. it was used to make powerful hallucinogenic and performance enhancing drugs.

remember in Alien Ressurection where they had xenomorphs in a containment chamber and were conditioning it to "tame" it?
and then this clip where they talk about the plans for it
the potential is unbelievable, once we've tamed them

I would not call an unanswered question or a character motivation not fully explored to the ultimate answer a plot hole. JMHO

I always thought they had the delusion they could train them, sort of like the raptors in Jurassic World.

it's not my favorite of the franchise either but it does answer the OP's question

I need to go back and rewatch the "newer" Alien movies. Yeah, I didn't remember that scene at all...
Here's the chronological order of the movies. I'm rusty on Premetheus and Covenant and how exactly they play into the alien creation. I never realized David created the xenomorph in Prometheus? I really need to rewatch that one. I must've not paid close attention to that.
And apparently the new movie coming out, Romulus (which looks really good), will be set in between Alien and Aliens. Lots of jumping around.. which can be interesting if pulled off correctly, which is hard to do I think. Always like this franchise and look forward to any new Alien movie. They're all good enough to me. I don't tear movies apart too too much...

For the same reason that the Umbrella corporation keeps trying to make zombies.
It's a fun premise in a story that immediately implodes when held up to any logic.
Aliens would be damn near impossible to weaponize. They have their own agenda, are smart, and injuring them in any meaningful manner just damages whatever thing you have them contained in. It would be clear to anyone you cannot "train" them so there's no method of using them.
The comics try and justify it more, where there's genetic engineering taking place (kind of like the last one with Ripley), but honestly it always ends poorly for those as well, because, you know... horror movie.

So this is the order we should watch them again? like for real?

"It's a magnificent specimen."
Do you really need more than that?

that’s pretty much it
my recollection is that not only is it an interesting alien, it’s the ONLY alien discovered thus far. Of course they want one

There's got to be others, else Hudson's question wouldn't make sense, "Is this gonna be a stand-up fight, sir, or another bug hunt?"

There was some concept art for that idea in Blomkamps cancelled film
[/img] kinda awesome...kinda silly
But as far as the aliens being used as bioweapons, wasnt that intent of the Engineers..... to use black mutagen that birthed the proto aliens in Prometheus and Covenant, as a weapon to cleanse the earth of human life?

Don't think so.. That's just the movies in the order of the timeline in the Aliens universe..
I like watching a series in the order of release rather than the actual chronological order. I just listed them like that to get a better understanding of when things actually happened.

Funny... I never thought about the absence of other extraterrestrial life in the franchise. There are no other alien life forms ever found.
This creature is the only other life in the universe I guess.
