True. It's why very few people are much taller than 5 ft, and why most all of us still die before 50. Nothing advances or changes.

Ahh yes. We get so much smarter in the future.

Is it just me or does the gestation cycle for the Xeno keep getting shorter and shorter and shorter? Seems like they lost the opportunity to build the tension there a bit.
The only reason I’m watching at this point is because I find the aliens more interesting at this point.
Agree with the points that Wendy controlling the xeno strips it up of its nihilistic violence and drive to reproduce. There’s no attempt by either xeno to try to build a nest.

I'll say anything to make sure I miss the obvious point, right?

My issue as well. I though you had a few days. I didn't like in avp how fast it was. This was like that. It should take more than a few hours.

I am two episodes behind. Was three but I watched E4 last night. What is the general consensus on the show? Do people still like it? I ask because I think I am losing interest a little bit, and I’m not sure why really.
I do have a gripe with how human the xenomorph looks. It just looks off for some reason and I think that may be why; it just sort of looks like a guy in an alien suit.
I plan on continuing to catch up this weekend, but was curious as to the thread’s thoughts about it since I was a little behind.

Episode 6 is amazing. It could’ve been its own Alien film if it was 20 minutes longer. It’s that good. Goes backwards a bit in this week’s episode. Went from the most Alien like episode to the least Alien episode
Goes from Alien to Jurassic Park.

I agree episode 6 is the movie or series I want to see.

So if all the other alien critters are in their holding cells, why does Boy Howdy have the sheep in a box so it can overhear all their detailed assessments and current status of the island?
(Gee, I wonder if this will pay off later in the show)

And for the love of Pete, can they stop zooming in on Wendy’s damn lips every time she clicks and calls for the xeno?

Finally seeing the plant monster in action was glorious.
And when ol’ boy reanimated after the Eye Ball hopped in it. LAWD.
Would love to see another season of this.

Great episode! I really enjoyed this show. Can’t wait for next season. Really thought the eye alien was gonna take over the brother, but cool to see it didn’t.

Boy Howdy is better than Anakin Skywalker.
Wendy is Magneto 3000. The Maryist of Mary Sues.

I liked it. But, I dont understand why they didnt show more.
They show as little as possible, so they can get another season.
I wanted to see the eye in action.
I wanted to see Weyland arrive at the island.

Waste of a great set and some good actors.
How long has Arthur been dead? A full day? Maybe 2? He's lookin' pretty ripe, but no problem with Eyeball to reanimate, huh?
Really curious for all the dead bodies between the facility to the beach, Eyeball made its way all the way down and just happened to stumble on a not so fresh body wide out on the open, barely touched by any of the local wildlife.
And WTF happened to the steam cleaner? Not 1 damn thing.

I'm sure season 2 will have more substance.

Didn’t even occur to me that he would be the one until I saw it happen.
They better give us a season 2 because that was not a limited series finale at all.
Here is a quote from a Hollywood Reporter article .
quote:
What is the latest on potentially getting a season two? Previously, you said the show could run first as many as five seasons, but I noticed you just referenced getting “a second and third season.” So it made me wondering if you’ve adjusted that ambition at all.
I wouldn’t read too much into that. I don’t have a destination in mind. I don’t know how long it will take me to get there. It’s been such an amazing act of play for me to enter this franchise and bring my own ideas to it. And just like with Fargo, I think, “Who am I kidding? As long as they let me tell stories in this tone of voice, I’m going to tell stories in this tone of voice.” Right now, I feel flush with enthusiasm for this hybrid show that I’ve made between Alien and looking at the future of humanity in a way that feels entertaining. So I don’t know. And look, there are artistic goals and the commercial goals. I think we’ve launched incredibly well. I’m certainly hoping that it’s not a long nail biter of “Can we do this again?” My hope is certainly in the next couple of months to get some kind of sign from them as to whether I should get another job or get back to work

The Maryist of Mary Sues.
My husband said, “Oh, she going to turn it into Mary Sue Island.”
A lot of setups with no follow through:
The eyeball goes for a dead body?
I mean, how devastating would it have been for the eyeball to take over the brother. All of the creatures have just kind of become McGuffins at this point.
Sorry, Belle, I thought the plant was underwhelming.
The mosquito things don’t get out and kill Kirsch or one of the other kids. Just wasteful.
We didn’t get anymore of the eyeball and the xeno. Boo.
No showdown between BK and a creature. Pitiful.
No one important died. Modern writers just can’t kill people off.
The newbie xeno is not a queen. Sad.
Make it make sense:
The redhead survived getting scrambled by a lightning bolt of electricity?
A bunch of guys with guns can’t kill the xeno in this show but a bunch of guys with guns can kill a bunch of them in Aliens?
The xeno is Wendy’s pet?
BK doesn’t have some kind of failsafe for the synths?
Wendy accidentally figures out how to turn Atom off instead of winning a fight and incapacitating him? You can’t get any more Mary Sue than that.
