Seeing this as a 21 page thread, I have to assume this is a great series? I watched all 3 Alien movies way back when and I did see Prometheus. I have not seen the others like Covenant and Romulus. Does that matter?
It's very good, and has been consistently intriguing. I'd say it's neither as perfect and brilliant as its biggest fans have claimed, nor as plot hole-riddled and brain dead as the the dudes who live to hate everything complain about.
There are Easter egg references to previous Alien films. Never seeing Covenant or Romulus should not hurt or hinder your enjoyment of this.

* It’s supposed to be a prequel!*
No. This series is fetid trash.
Watch at your own peril.
*And I can't believe they copy & pasted Newt's line from Aliens. Those lazy worthless MFin' HACKS! !

I really want to know why the eyeball monster has such beef with the xeno. The only thing I could think is that the eyeball saw a stronger creature and wanted to take over the xeno.
Posted on 9/9/25 at 10:00 pm to DesignTiger
To what point? Has the end game for taking over a creature been explained? It doesn't mate with another of the host creature's kind, so why does it take over its body? Just a form of leveling up? Like a Hermit crab getting a new shell?
And what if it DOES try to rip out an eye of a Xenomorph, would it even survive the acid blood?

They are competing for the same prey.
I like that this whole thing is just Kirsh’s experiment. David 2.0. I wouldn’t put it past him rigging the feed door to jam. His scene in the elevator with Morrow was my favorite part of the episode. Second would be the special effects of Isaac’s death.

Nice to see that there’s something that likes to eat synthetics.
Why wouldn’t that thing melt the aluminum grate to get to the synth who’s been groomed?
The behavioral inconsistency of the creatures is super convenient for the plot.

Kids talk amongst themselves. They socialize. How the hell are they not gonna bring this stuff up?
Nibbs looks like she was on the verge of another psychotic meltdown simply because Wendy was asking her normal questions and she had no memory of them
The other side of this, inherent to the scenario you're imagining, is that telling the others would require all the kids keep a secret from just one. That would be impossible, and you inevitably would have had the same complaint.
The "lady doctor" has been given a lose-lose conundrumto magically solve, and she didn't really decide anything at all -- a corporate goon looking for a short term solution to a complicated problem, at the expensive of everything other than profit, forced it all.

Another great episode. This has been really something else.

The list of stupid in this ONE episode could keep me up half the night typing, so I'll narrow it down to just a few.
Where the frick is everyone? Security wise, how aren't alarms going off when not 1 but 2 doors in the 'secure lab' are open? We KNOW there are security cameras, because fired low-sperm count doctor makes that abundantly clear. HE's being watched, but none of the priceless alien specimens OR the prototype to immortality kid (*Tootles - FFS , these names) is being monitored? REALLY?
Boy Howdy, the smartest most brilliant human ever is acting more and more like a retard as the show continues. It makes no sense.
The philosophical questions being asked NOW concerning the kids? Really? And Wendy.. honey,. you were dead. You KNOW this already. Had they not put her into a android body, she'd be dust by now. So how is she suddenly come to some great realization that she isn't 'alive' in the natural sense, not like humans, animals or other aliens. So smart, yet she can't grasp the concept of a life cycle, the food chain, an ecosystem where predators and prey exist, as has been the case for 100's of millions of years , long before humans.
Also, how the hell does baby xenomorph have a language? Wendy says she's getting better on pronunciation. Which implies words, sentence structure, rules... it's a freaking ANIMAL!
And I'll say it again... Kirsh taking Newt's line is just lazy fricking writing. Screw these a-holes.
*Kit Young did a really great job in Shadow & Bone. I can't believe he's the same actor, because he looks younger in this show than he did 3 years ago. So that's something. But now he's dead. Or just offline for a bit.

Anybody still defending this show is either a shill or has the mental acuity of an 8 year old.
Posted on 9/10/25 at 2:09 am to Madking
It’s funny Kaiju makes a post saying don’t watch it’s putrid trash, then a poster, not responding to Kaiju, says he’s interested in a part of the story, just for Kaiju to then make a post to him complaining then another a few posts down.
Dude you don’t like the show just don’t watch. This and the last of us crack me up with the hate watching then trying to convince others the show isn’t good

Just finished the new episode.. we watch because it’s a property we care about and it’s just mishandled. Not one person on this production noticed the atmosphere is completely disjointed from the films and game (Alien Isolation)? This feels nothing like a piece of Alien IP and devalues the entire property
This episode was boring, convoluted, the out of nowhere music choices are certainly a choice (extra cheese). I feel zero suspense even when it tries its hardest
It takes everything terrifying about Alien, dumbs it down, strips it of all its mystique and shits it out just like a watered down Marvel series. Disney does own it now, so checks out
I don’t get the praise for this show. Romulus, while not perfect, was fun and felt like an Alien movie. This show shouldn’t be considered canon and should be wiped from existence

You have it backwards. I was responding to Sho Nuff, who asked if this show was worth watching. I gave my opinion.
Which is funny because this is a 'discussion' thread, and yet when anyone tries do discuss, the shill response is "if you don't like it, don't watch!".
Which would be easy to do, except this is different. An established great IP is being retconned and watered down by lesser people in an industry which doesn't give 2 flips about the source material.
The fatigue is real.

I have to say, I was let down by this episode.
And I have been really enjoying this show so far.
First, it was sort of boring if I’m being honest.
Next, I simply hate how they handled Tootles death. That situation was full blown retarded. So you’re telling me, if the handle for the containment of the feeding tray breaks off, your first instinct is to open the door and get in there with those flying aliens? So stupid.
Then the doctor who comes in… who is an adult scientist with 6 degrees supposedly, sees this kid dead and instead of running out and immediately alerting anyone and everyone, he goes into the room with the aliens and struggles to move Tootles.
Beyond stupid.
Also, they leaned pretty heavy on the boy genius being over the top in this episode.. him barefoot and crawling all over the table during arbitration was just weird, but I guess in character.
Wendy/Marcy siding with the aliens seemed like a interesting point.. I do think they kill the brother and she gets proven wrong and will have to live with that.
Overall, a clear setup ep for the finale but I must admit not the best one.
Still excited for the finale though.

Why do you two (or one) foul up threads in shows you don't like or don't watch. No one cares. You two just frick up every thread your in.
And mk calling everyone shills or liars. Her a new insult you hack.
You two are the worst posters this board has ever had and that's saying a lot.

You're completely right about it being in character because it being weird and over the top really did not cross my mind lol
I'll also say I completely disagree with the not feeling any suspense thing that somebody said. When I saw which direction they were going with Arthur I certainly felt suspense.

Very good episode.
Seeing how far Kirsh is disassociated from the goals of Boy Kavalier.
The Kirsh v Morrow scene elevated (no pun intended) the entire episode.
Slightly trying to lure Hermit into the egg chamber was a given, the pivot to Dr. Sylvia as the host was a decent twist.
Looking forward to a Wendy & Kirsh versus the world finale. Hermit ending up in an awkward alliance with Kirsh.
The parasight sheep knocking over a gas can here and there, just to watch the world burn. Classic.
