Alex is being a bit of a ham for the crowd.
That's the sort of thing that could cause one to get careless.

This is super anxiety inducing.

Yes. But I knew he survived.
This is live.
This is live.

This is fricking nuts. That thing he just climbed around…I was screaming “why is he going on the outside!! Stay against the building!!”

This guy is so calm while we’re all anxious as hell on the other side of the world.
Starting the hard parts now huh?

Geez why did he do that dragon when he didn't have to do that one?

I'm getting aggravated when they keep interrupting him and screwing up his concentration.
I keep wondering what will happen if he runs out of chalk...I keep seeing it blowing out of his pouch

I keep worrying that the people waving inside the windows will distract him.

putting me in the mood to rewatch the movie Fall.
Not that it was any good but im already in the anxiety mindset watching someone at the top of a 1000 ft tower even though it was a fake Hollywood movie

Oh, now he's cheating on that smooth part.

Geez, standing on the tippy top like it's nothing.

Getting the crew involved after was pretty cool

I’m guessing he did not die.

Well the title of this thread was edited to (Done) instead of (Splat!) so I'm assuming so as well.

I was waiting for someone to post a video from inside the building and indeed it gives a fresh perspective of the insanity of this climb.

It is reported about 10 deaths a year around the world from free soloing. I mean you can not afford to make a mistake since your are not attached to anything. A well known climber died in Linville Gorge here about 6 years ago bouldering and dropped from about 80 feet.
Two of my kids are big into bouldering and do ropes as well. My younger only does sport climbing and the older is now learning to trad climb. But still they prefer to boulder over ropes if given a choice.
