I mean, I follow to a point. The spending on these things are out of control. From a business model standpoint, Disney+ isn't a prestige project for WDC. From Iger's standpoint, the reason he came back, etc., this is the future of the company.
If $X does not return $X+1, it is fiscal irresponsibility. I have to assume the shareholders are okay with it, because they have had options.
Which brings me back to my "money laundering" point. What other explanation can there be to spend hundreds of millions on these boutique shows? Apple can do it, because ATV is a prestige project for them, competing more with HBO, at least that was their initial view. Same thing for Amazon. Amazon is "Wal-Mart Online". But Disney is an entertainment company (well, mainly a theme park company that also does TV, movies and cruises).
They've never made a penny on Star Wars. They last made money on Marvel in 2019 (although it was a lot of money). So, what gives?

I thought the first episode and Hahn's performance in the caricature of a detective was pretty great. Second episode kept my interest enough for the third.
