I agree with the tweet you posted

I liked the imposing nature of Agamemnon.

Also, doesn’t Agamemnon appear to Odysseyus in the underworld after his death? This scene could be from that event in the story, which would make the appearance of the elegant armor more fitting…

I'm cautiously optimistic for this movie but just not sure about Matt Damon, I don't dislike him just not sure what to think here. I also didn't care for him as Carroll Shelby.

Damon is supposed to be really smart IRL but he doesn't project it well as an actor. That's why Will Hunting works because he is a character who does everything he can to not appear smart to the outside world and that's perfect for Damon

And I liked him as Shelby but I don't know what Shelby was like IRL so I saw it as a movie character not a biopic character.

meh, he's smart for an actor

Every time I hear him speak, he just sounds like generic redditor #353, with generic leftist talking points. Indistinguishable from Ruffalo. . .or Sean Penn (minus the overwhelming self-importance)

I am convinced people only think he is smart because of Good Will Hunting.

He went to Harvard back when that meant something.

I think Damon is a great actor and this movie looks fantastic. People complaining about Nolan being Nolan in a trailer seems funny to me.

Ivy leagues aren't an indicator of intellect, so much as academic rigor. . .for those without "alternate paths"

I like the thought that it’s reminiscent of the vases from antiquity.

The vases you posted are probably from much later than the setting for Odyssey, but who cares. The horse haired plumed helmet looks awesome and we associate it only with Ancient Greek warriors.

Matt Damon? Good grief.

This alone makes this film unwatchable for me.

Harvard hasn't been a standard of quality students since Vietnam. That Harvard … the institution that produced brilliant young men fluent in Greek and Latin, the one whose graduates explored Egyptian ruins and explored the edges of the Earth, that Harvard was dead long before Damon was born.

The entrance data say otherwise

Back in the 90s the cream of the crop went to Harvard (other than a small legacy population with inferior scores). No holistic acceptance or over reliance on extracurriculars. You had to have damn near perfect grades and scores to even be considered.

I’m looking forward to it. I love Troy, although I think this will be a very different movie.

Matt Damon was awesome as LeBeof in True Grit, i find him annoying in everything else he has done.

It is a standard of academic discipline, no doubt. I just made the contention that it isn't an indicator of high intellect.

I would wager Harvard's totally-not-a-quota "racially conscious" admissions has diluted it somewhat.

But that also means the Whites and Asians there are WAY better (or way richer) than the old Whites and Asians that went there, as they now also have to be better than lesser performing boosted minorities.
