People used to like Smith because of his charm but it's turned into smarm, and his father-son duo schtick is annoying. Turned down Django because wasn't center stage 100% of the time. He's the shallowest movie star of the modern era.

Yep. And he actually seemed to care about the projects he did (ok maybe not Wild Wild West). Now it just seems to be either a money grab, a kiddie grab or both.

These inter-NBA commercials they are making are a perfect synopsis for everything that is wrong with this movie

After earth is getting killed by critics... not surprising tho. 12% on RT with only a 3.8 out of 10

I saw a preview for this Will Smith and son thing at the theater months back. I thought it would be cool and sci fi with a touch of avatar. I guess the preview is a bad teaser.

Maybe I'm wrong but I get the feeling that Will's role in this movie is going to be very small. The trailers seem to be hiding the fact that he's barely in it.

Next to Movie 42 and Scary Movie 5 (but those don't even count as movies), its the front runner for worst film of the year so far.

Saw the trailer during Trek...not impressed. I agree..hes going a bit too overboard with promoting his kid. The film will do 50 to 60 million opening weekend, then collapse afterwards

The only thing I've ever seen Will Smith's kid do was rap with his dad in six minute clip. Thought it was a cool performance. If my dad was worth what, $100 million...I'd hope he'd hook me up in a movie too. Don't plenty of people get jobs because of their family?

this is pretty high level nepotism though. this is a 130 million dollar blockbuster budget film with the lead who is famous for being related to someone famous

If my dad had the means for that level of nepotism, I wouldn't apologize for it.

If my dad was Will Smith, I wouldn't mind being overexposed and put into feature films.

shite, that is more American than Apple Pie bro!

I'd feel embarrassed, I know others would obviously disagree

he already has millions and enough fame by proxy and women interested in him

this stuff is more likely to end up making his life worse than it would be if he just quietly enjoyed the same benefits

I'm surprised a superstar like Smith would want his young kids growing up in hollywood like this. Usually celebrities like him don't have that stage mom mentality.
