All these toy IPs and we've still never gotten a halfway decent G.I. Joe movie.

I was just thinking the same thing. They should get the people behind the Fast and Furious movies to do a GI Joe reboot, because that's what its basically become.

why did they feel the need to make a Masters of the Universe movie but have it take place on Earth?

terrible decision

Pot, meet kettle.

Exactly how? My criticism of someone's idea does not constitute any of that. Disney and other studio's firing people for having a different take, accusing them of racism, and only listening to ideas that further their political agenda is the example. Also, just because a particular toy has never been turned into a movie does not mean it is an original idea. (Barbie looks like it might make money-let's make a shitload of movies about toys.) The original idea occurred with the toy manufacturer and now the studio wants to buy the good will generated by that to get butts in the seats. Once you give them your money, they give you a horrible story that let's you know how much of racist you are.

Who the heck wants to watch a damn Barney movie? Unless it's Barney Fife.

Outside of Tarantino/Wes Anderson/Nolan, i can’t remember the last time I went to a one off, to just enjoy the movies that had its own singular story.

Seems like the horror genre is about the most reliable genre to produce original scripts, but most of them seem to over-use cheap jump scares or familiar settings (like a house with malicious entity) that ultimately make most of them feel the same.

And of course , if they do get one that's a hit, they'll beat that franchise into the ground with countless sequels. But Jordan Peele, as well as those A23-produced movies have stepped up to the plate with some decent one-off psychological horror movies.

Do you know how many of your favorite movies are based off of existing literature?

Counting TV and movies, I think "Little Women" has been remade 20 times.

Lord, please make this happen. And if you do, don't let the people making it frick it up. Amen.
