I used to think Will Smith in the early 2000s had really made the leap from music, to TV, to blockbuster movies successfully. I thought he really had become an actor.

Fast forward 15 years later and I rewatched "I am legend" last night. Dude is a terrible actor. Overacts way to much and was just bad. I couldn't enjoy the film due to his awful acting.

The dog carried the movie...

Who you got?

ETA: This isn't about finding out later you don't like them as a person or their views but more that you thought they were good actors and later realized they just weren't.

There are plenty of actors I can't stand.

They are some actors I still watch in spite of their politics. Tom Hanks is one of those.

I almost put Deniro as an honorable mention. I typed it and retracted. I don't think you can argue that the first half of Deniros career is fantastic. I mean absolutely fantastic. The second half....abysmal.

I can't stand him as a person or an actor anymore. However, he was a good actor for 3 decades, really good. He just got old, desperate and lazy.

My point is looking back I don't think Will Smith was ever a good actor I just thought he was at the time. Retrospect...not so much.

ETA: I think its interesting to look at Pesci and Deniro in the Irishman. Pecsci had a lot of bad movies over the years let's be honest just like Deniro. I would say Deniro has fewer overall he just fell flat in the end. 2019 here comes the Irishman, Pesci's performance was far and away better in that film, I mean leagues better. Deniro is just mailing it now.

survey says...Jim Carrey!

Absolute favorite comedic actor when I was growing up, but he’s outed himself as a complete turd over the past 15-20 years and hasn’t done anything relevant aside from what? Bruce Almighty. Just a shitstain of a person who overstayed his welcome by about 20 years. Dude is awful and ran out of jokes/gags long ago.

George Clooney hasn't made a good movie in years. Michael Clayton is one my favorite movies, but that was close to 15 years ago.

I never liked Will Smith and idk why, I always have tried to. Well the original Bad Boys I liked him in but the rest just aren't my type of movies I guess. I used to really like Shia, but now I don't. Once again maybe its just the stories of the movies he's been in recently. I try not to let off screen antics influence my movie experience but there are some where its hard to do so. There are more I just can't think of them at the moment.

I love Enemy of the State. But I think it succeeds in spite of Smith, not because of him. He seems like he's playing the Fresh Prince in a ton of roles.

I agree this is his best movie but Gene Hackman was the star, Smith just was a vehicle for Hackmans performance.

I've pondered Danny Glovers career alot. What happened to this dude? He was at the top and just disappeared. I remember seeing Shooter for the first time and was like damn that's Danny Glover! Then his performance gave me the impression he had a stroke or something. Did he have a stroke? I can't explain Glover.

I used to LOVE Adam Sandler and now I think he's the most annoying character in his movies. Weird how time changes a person.

Glover has been very active in politics. He spends all of his time giving speeches and speaking out about social issues. His movie career has been on the backburner for him for a while.
