That's why I honestly I think he is an extremely overrated actor with literally no range. He plays every character as the same guy. People acted like training day was so epiphany showing his range, but it was literally the same character trying to act a a "bad arse".

It amazes me what people call great actors nowadays. Clooney is the same thing. Very good actor that basically is the same guy in everything. Jamie Foxx is the same.

Now RDJ is honestly one of the few that truly is not like that from your regular featured American actors. Brian Cranston is another.

I’m with you. Denzel, like Morgan Freeman, are phenomenal on screen. But they are playing a slightly different version of the same character in almost every movie. I don’t think that makes them bad, and everyone already knows it, so it’s hard to say they are overrated. John Wayne and Clint Eastwood were similar.

I have to disagree with the OP on Alec Baldwin. He can play a humble guy, an evil person, and also has incredible comedic ability. His actual performances seem to be nothing like his real life personality.

I mean, you could point to Bone Collector and Flight as his character being pretty much different but the fact still stands.

Worked with Clooney and Affleck and both are super chill and pleasant to deal with.

Tom Cruise is as equally super nice as he is an entitled prick. It’s bizarre. You don’t know what you’re getting from him.

I don't think I was that butthurt. I was just legitimately confused.

I only did a commercial with him, but he is much quieter than I expected.

Sam Jackson is EXACTLY like most of his characters. He screams everything whether he’s mad or having a great time. He let me watch the NBA playoffs in his trailer with him and some other crew members and that was pretty awesome.

My favorite part of the OP is that he used Keanu Reeves as one of only two examples of actors who don't play themselves in every role.

The bold are the same character just doing different jobs.

Young cocky hot shot, over confident, ends up getting humbled, then saves the day at the end.

I disagree with all but Chris Farley on your list. The rest of all played many different types of characters, you just singled out some similar examples.

There are only two big named actors I can think of who only ever play themselves, Ryan Reynolds and The Rock
