I dot think this guy has range on Hoffman or DDL levels, but he doesn't get enough credit for his range, Will Smith.

Fresh Prince
Legend of Bagger Vance
Independence Day
Seven pounds
I am Legend
Six Degrees of Seperation
The Pursuit of Happyness

He played different types of characters in all of those

Jaime Foxx anyone?

I mean, Ray Charles? Max in Collateral? Django? Jarhead?

not to mention his brilliant work on In Living Color

No comedic actor has been able to accomplish what Hanks has done dramatically, and no dramatic actor has been able to lead a comedy to triumph like Hanks has done. He can do it all and he can do it all well, all the while playing different characters.

took till the second page to mention him because he's not well liked - but he's at the top of the list.

I also liked the mentions of:

DDL
Sean Penn
Joaquin Phoenix
Phillip Seymour Hoffman

And of course we're short on mentioning women as usual around here - but we have to mention:

Meryl Streep
Kathy Bates
Kate Blanchett
Helen Mirren
Tilda Swinton
Glenn Close
Marisa Tomei
Julianne Moore

All in all this category should be dominated by women IMO
