What!?! That was a great scene. There was just too much ??? With the ooze, I do like the concept of a multi purpose WMD though.

Lynn Collins was awful. I thought she gave an even worse performance than that kookookachoo chick from x men origi...oh wait.

got to run but I will fervently defend Prometheus. They don't make them like that anymore. I only wish they didnt try so hard to establish the alien connection. The engineers alone visually do that.

I have anger about it, simply because I really like Ridley Scott. It was more than passable, but that squarely rests on visuals and performances.

That's like 75% of the sci fi equation. You weren't at all intrigued with the creation aspect? I just wanted to know why the engineers were going to annihilate life on earth. We should have gotten an explanation on THAT one

See that's where we differ. Visuals have almost nothing to do with science fiction. Situation and Setting do. I'm a Twilight Zone Science Fiction nerd, not a Buck Rogers nerd. Those things have their place, but "Laser Guns does not a science fiction make."

I think it's there only in passing. There's a fantastic film there waiting to be made, sadly Ridley Scott never made it.

He either needed to connect the film to the Alien Series or make a completely new film. He did neither and ruined the film.

I'm not a laser gun guy myself. Jesus look at my username. Prometheus has everything, they just effed the execution up a little on some important plot details about the ooze. It was just inconsistent through the whole movie. And if Prometheus doesn't satisfy you n the situation and setting department than you must've expected the single greatest movie ever made. Creation, humanity's existence, their own lives are at stake. Trapped on a mysterious world that they were invited to by the beings who created life on earth, with some very wonderous/dangerous things

I agree to an extent. This awesome movie could've been all time great.

All he had to do was just say in interviews it's the same universe. Visually I could make the connection on my own. I had no interest in the alien angle. He went too far. Either subtle or not at all, so I guess I kind of agree with you.

I got mixed up earlier. I like the engineers motives kept a mystery I just wanted a concrete explanation of how the ooze works similar to how we understand the life cycle of the alien creature in aliens.

The Kurowasa (Thread of the Year)
Hottest Actress of All Time Sweet 16
Microsoft Paint Iconic Movie Images

Winner is Microsoft Paint Iconic Movie Images

Coco the Sexiest Actress of All Time was fun. I put a good bit of work in to that one so im glad it was in the running. Those that followed it through got pretty passionate. The jokes/hatred in the threads is what made it not necessarily the voting.

But Paint is hard to beat.

Yeah, Prometheus really did kinda suck, though. It was unnecessarily vague just to jerk itself off artistically, and the Charlize Theron character was completely unnecessary to the story, probably the result of some Hollywood power douching to get her into the big RS movie.

It was visually satisfying, but everything is nowadays, so it wasn't enough. I haven't seen any other cuts, but I shouldn't have to. You know. Man.

Props to this board for getting it right with Best Actress. I was thinking Jennifer Lawrence would get it considering she's the female JGL in this board.

Jessica Chastain FTW

It wasn't visually impressive in the throwing a bunch of cgi at the screen. They used sets, costumes, real Hollywood magic. Prometheus is a good example of how to apply cgi in a movie

1. Really good comparison.
2. Have you seen The Impossible? Naomi Watts was crazy good.

The original plan was for all of the Bond actors to be there and it was gonna be a big deal but it fell apart.

They should have just killed the tribute then because that was weird and awkward.
