The 80's wre the pinnacle of music IMO. It's been a downhill slide ever since.
But the 70's had classic rock, progressive rock, and new wave, and the 60's, well, they filtered Chuck Berry and the old bluesmen through acid and blew the roof off the joint. I definitely agree about the downhill slide since the 80's.

I would think only gay guys are going to be interested in seeing this movie since it's a musical

Is it supposed to have a lot of dancing? Only musicals with lots of dancing are gay.

Aside from anything Dave Grohl touched in the 90's or Green Day, what was great about 90's music?
Uhhhh...I don't think you are serious. If so, your taste in music is turrrrible.

The soundtrack is good but I already have those songs.
I have no desire to see Tom Cruise sing though.
Meh.
To each their own, no disrespect intended.
I'll pass on this one.

Nothing will ever match the brilliance of music from about 1963 to 1975 but the "video music era" from 1981 thru 1993 is the only era that gets anywhere close imho. It's not on the 60s and early 70s level but the 80s was the last musical era where the quality of music was at a really high point across all musical genres. Misinformed people like to crack on 80s music but "Hair" metal was about the only real disappointment from the decade. Other than that, heavy metal, R&B, new wave, rock, pop, and even rap music were all consistently at very high levels. Next to the 60s, the 80s are by far the second most influential decade in regards to modern pop culture in just about every area.

Hearing Cruise sing pour some sugar on me in the previews is enough to avoid this movie. Dude sounded terrible
Agreed. Not sure why they'd let him sing the songs himself if he sounds terrible.
I fricking love 80s music, but will likely be avoiding this one unless I hear just stupid good things about it.
Oh, and for the dude who apparently has never seen a hot chick before...here you go:
Now you don't have to see the movie anymore.

Set List for Movie
Everyone one of those songs sucks balls. The 80's were a terrible time.

I really can't wait to see this.

The only actors in this movie that I like are Baldwin and Giamatti. Russell Brand sucks. The music sucks. The plot looks retarded and Tom cruise looks like a douche bag. I don't know the target audience for this apparent abortion, but I'm not in it.

I didn't realize this was a Broadway musical before this. I am intrigued because of two things. One, I like the music, and two, I happen to be a Tom Cruise fan.
Not sure if I'll catch in theaters, but I'll definitely see it.

Didn't you just graduate from college in the last 3 or 4 years? You couldn't have been more than 5 years old at the very end of the 80s so how would you?

Number one reason this movie will suck= Tom cruise
