Was off today and decided to give this movie a try since it’s spooky season. Damn this movie made vampires look creepy. The movie had some scenes that made you claustrophobic. The suspense built as the people of the town had to sneak around quietly.
Wish more horror movies could focus on this type of vampire.

Excellent movie. One of my favorites. Creepy atmosphere, creepy vampires.

I watched this myself for the first time the other night. Those vampires were terrifying, almost alien like. The main actor nailed it with that weird satanic language he was speaking. Also, without spoiling anything, i thought what Hartnett did at the end was a pretty sweet ending. Solid movie

That overhead shot of the vampires fighting the people in the town is awesome. I think it's my favorite vampire movie.

Awesome, awesome movie.
The plot, the acting, the cinematography, etc. It's all great.
The lead vampire dude kills it (Danny Huston), and ever since this movie any time I see him in anything else all I can picture him is as this head vampire.
I wonder why Josh Hartnett doesn't make more movies. And Ben Foster is good in it too.

Josh hartnett took a break from acting then came back for penny dreadful.
Ben foster has never had the big breakout leading role, but damn he is so good as the supporting actor

Love that moive. One of the best vampire movies of all time IMO.
And I watched the movie at least 3 times before I knew that this guy played the head vampire

So these vampires come to Alaska, no luggage or anything. They would kill and drink people. Blood splattered all over. They wore these crisp white shirts and would be covered in blood. In the next scene, the shirts had no blood on them. Who was cleaning these shirts?
