In an interview on BBC 6 yesterday, Radiohead guitarist Ed O'Brien said the band are currently in the studio wrapping up album number eight, as At Ease points out. "It's genuinely exciting. It's very different from what we did last time. It's really nice to be doing this," he said, contrasting the sessions with the recording of In Rainbows, which he referred to as "a slog."

Talking about a timetable for the release, O'Brien offered the following: "Ideally, it would be great if it came out sometime this year. It has got to; I hope so. We're at the finishing line. When you're making a record, a film, write a book for ages and ages you think the finishing line is miles away. Now it feels it's in touching distance. But of course, it being a creative process, at the last bit also, you have bursts of energy, you achieve a lot of things in a small period of time and then you're nearly there. It might slow down. But yeah, hopefully it will be a matter of weeks."

Just got How to Destroy Angels (Trent Reznor, his wife, and Atticus Ross) EP debut album today and it is really good. Reznor is still a genius.

Looking forward to these upcoming albums:

Panda Bear - Tomboy (7/13)
Arcade Fire - The Suburbs (8/3)
Eels - Tomorrow Morning (8/24)
Grinderman - Grinderman 2 (9/14)
No Age - Everything In Between (9/28)

Baloo will be glad to see that. I like the record, but it hasn't grown on me as much as I had hoped. It is probably my 4th favorite NP record.

nice list though.

I haven't listened to Wolf Parade yet, and Local Natives barely missed the list for me.

Dr. Dog - Shame, Shame

One of the best albums I've heard in recent memory. I just can't seem to put this one completely away.

Same. High Violet and it are neck and neck for me. But Shame, Shame also renewed my interest in Fate somehow so that's been getting plenty of spins as well lately.

Up and down, the album is awesome, with maybe one weak song (Blue). Jackie Wants a Black Eye is just awesome. Right up there with other Dr. Dog greats.
