Try again, dipshit. There's plenty of great music out there from previous generations. I don't have to listen to contemporary crap. But you do you. Keep listening to Bro Country, Rap, and what passes for pop and rock music these days...thinking that it's the shite.

And there's plenty of great music now but continue to stay stuck in that mindset of every generation after my generation sucks.

Bye Bye Bye is one of the only songs I liked from NSYNC and although they weren't really my thing, it was a good one.
I worked at a Blockbuster Video around this time. This song played, ad nauseum, on the store trailer tape. We'd get so bored on weeknights we would practice the dance from the video. We got it down pretty good.

something that’s fallen by the wayside, songs straight up to promote movies
Huh? There's literally an Oscar category just for this.

meh not quite the way it was JorJor, most winners now seem to be from musicals or animated movies for songs in the movie
for example I'm not even sure Kiss From a Rose was even actually in Batman, but the song was written for it and a big musical video with clips from the movie were heavily used to promote it

Damn I forgot about their terrible song for the mission impossible soundtrack...
I had that bumping in my garage during my big deadlift set yesterday.
This thread reminded me of Limp Bizkit and so i just put him on Spotify and let it go. It was pretty enjoyable for lifting ... not gonna lie. I couldn't find Rearranged though.

Kiss From a Rose
Great song no homo

"fred can you write us a song for Mission Impossible 2?"
"yeah sure thing, on it" (adds MI theme song rift and puts in lyrics from another song they were working on about how everyone hates on Fred Durst)
"All done guys."

no need for the no homo disclaimer, every one knows that song is great. What it had to do with Batman? I'm not sure.

It worked for Simon and Garfunkel.

Ya it's more around the soundtracks not being a big deal anymore too.
That batman soundtrack, Mortal Kombat, Spawn, and the Crow were a few examples of highly anticipated releases with exclusive songs on them. I still the jam the hell out of the Spawn soundtrack too, the rock and techno collaborations were fantastic. Especially the Incubus one, they were still unknown at the time and that track is the shite even today.
