A Few Good Men
Unforgiven
Howard's End
The Crying Game
Scent of a Woman
Unforgiven ended up winning but I've always been bothered that Last of the Mohicans didn't get a nominee and only walked away with an award for Sound

Unforgiven is the only movie of those that can get close to the greatness of LotM.

I saw at least 2 of these in the theater and watched the rest within a year on VHS/ cable.
Based on GG and SAG 2023 nominees there maybe one or two that I will make a point to watch one day.

Scent and A Few Good are TNT Saturday afternoon flicks.
Crying and Howard suck.
Unforgiven is a true classic and deserved winner.

If 93 had same diversity rules of today's Academy nominees would be:
American Me
Bodyguard
White Men Cant Jump
Juice
Malcom X - Winner

Never liked Howard's End. Swap Mohicans with that and the list is much better

the movie is not my thing, but i liked the series on Starz a few years back.
Hayley Atwell probably helped with that.

I'm joking but not really
I think today - Malcom X gets a nomination for sure, if not the win
Last of Mohicans probably does as well
The Academy standards would not allow an all white Howards End to be considered.
Crying game - dude repulsed by transgender would disqualify it
Scent of a Woman objectifies women too much - whooo aaaaa

Who is pearl clutching on this thread? Literally no one. Settle down.

All three of these are better than every movie nominated except Unforgiven.
You can add Deep Cover as another awesome movie from 1992 that you would apparently dismiss for featuring black people.

Howard The Duck was nominated (and subsequently robbed) for Best Picture in 1987
