Was gonna post Duel. If you haven't seen it, it's a great film, and Spielberg's first as a director.

there had always been trucker songs on country radio but convoy was the first one i remember crossing over to top 40.

Convoy was awesome. Even had it's own song.

Breaker Breaker is the first movie I can think of with Chuck as the hero.

Country trucker songs go back to the early '40s. But it was "6 Days On the Road" in 1963 that really got things in high gear, so to speak

"They Drive By Night" (1940) is an entertaining movie w/Bogart and George Raft.

"Thieves Highway" (1949) is a film noir w/Richard Conte

"Hell Drivers" (1957) is a UK film about "lorry" drivers, w/Sean Connery in a small role & Patrick McGoohan as the heavy,

Drive by Night is a great movie. Ida Lupino was a total vixen.

Dave Dudley sings my favorite Six days on the Road.

Duel was a TV movie. Excellent, it is avaliable on Bluray.
