I think their focus is on the spinoffs for the streaming platform. Yellowstone is just the last thing on basic cable aside from sports people seem to be watching en masse, so they're keeping it going as long as they can to whore it out for ad dollars. There's a reason these shows are all going there instead of the channel itself.
