Last night may have been have my least favorite so far.
I got excited for Alex when she got that job to earn some food, but knew there was going to be hitch in her giddy up at some point and low and behold, she more bad luck. What are the chances.
And why doesn't Spencer ever say shite??? He just goes silent and doesn't even begin to explain himself. Just laying out by a tree, sure I'll let you take me to the station. And someone else mentioned it earlier, they just happened to have a spare horse for him??

At least Alex finally caught a break. Will they meet up at train station in Chicago?

I haven't read any of the episode synopsis, but is that the case??
I think it typical fashion they will be about one stop apart and she will see him carrying his gun case walking away, she will yell to him, but he won't hear her and thats how the episode would end

Fixed for Sheridan.

Well, she will be stuck in Chicago for a few days. When that British couple find out who she is, they will help her. They will be impressed she survived as long as she did and stood up for herself to that dude.
You assume the train from Amarillo is going through Chicago. Probably St. Louis too. So yeah, it's conceivable they hook up in Chicago.

If this doesn’t end this season and goes to a third nobody will watch “season 3”
Look how dead this thread is. People have started to give up on season 2
I didn’t finish the last 3 episodes of Yellowstone. I am a pretty committed “fan” and I’m about for good.

It’s kind of running into the same problems that House of the Dragon Season 2 had.

With all the crap and bad luck Spencer and Alex have endured, they better give them a happy ending. I’ve touched on it before but given their respective journeys, I hope John, Casey, and Tate come from their line.

Nah. Fort Worth and Denver RR/Colorado & Southern RR to northern Wyoming and a Chicago, Burlington & Quincy connection to Billings. Northern Pacific Billings to Bozeman.
But, this is a Sheridan production so he may go to Florida on the way to Chicago to avoid snowdrifts or something.
In one of the previews they did show passenger cars lettered Northern Pacific, so they got that right.
I'm still laughing about Alex being on a Union Pacific train while east of Chicago. UP doesn't go east of Chicago even today and in 1923 only went as far east as Council Bluffs IA and Kansas City.
Why they screwed that up I have no idea as they had her on a New York Central train leaving Grand Central in NY, which was correct. Except for the going to Boston part...

And where did the horse for him to ride back come from? They brought an extra why?
I think I remember the dad of one of the indian kids that got shot by the priest crew gave the indian in the girl marshall's crew that horse so I guess he's just bringing it along for the ride everywhere they go.
my 2 cents-
Why on earth didn't Spencer and/or Alex call Bozeman and ask to speak to the Dutton Family. Anyone! And yes, I know Jacob didn't install a phone yet but they have one in Bozeman. Someone could have rode out to the ranch and said hey, you need to come to town, Spencer is in America and he needs money to get back home. Or Hey, you need to come to town, this girl Alex is Spencers wife and she needs money to get to Montana. Even if it took a week to get the callback, it's still shorter and easier than what these two have been going through.. I mean Spenser had the frickin sheriff on the phone already.. Hey sheriff, I'm stayin right here. Go tell uncle Jacob to send me some frickin money for a train.
And I liked Alex but she's a bitch now. When the English guy reached out his hand to help her she made a snide remark about, you've seen what I do to wandering hands, blah blah.. If I was that guy I'd have told her yeah, GFY, bye.

I've forgotten to watch the past couple episodes until I see this thread bumped. It's just too much dragging the story out with it not moving forward and too much Indian story that I do not care one whit about.

Yeah that comment was a bit much, but I can also understand her not trusting anyone anymore after what she's been through.

I went back and watched it and you're right. No idea why they later say Union Pacific. She's was supposed to be transferring to a Chicago, Rock Island and Pacific Railroad (CRI&P) train to Fargo at the Chicago station according to the schedule on the board.

Spencer doesn’t have enough words for a phone call. Can’t even tell the Marshall what he’s doing napping under a tree!
This show aggravates me so much, but with that said, I’ll be tuning again Sunday night

The Rock Island didn't go to Fargo.
To dive a bit deeper, there would not be a train from Chicago to Fargo. The "there are only seven passengers" is both comical and tells why. There were not enough people traveling from Chicago to Fargo daily to have a "limited" train for that route. Passenger trains never worked that way. ie; A separate train to each city/town along a route.
One would take a train from Chicago to the Twin Cities, likely on any one of three railroads (four if you were a masochist), and then get on another train going to Fargo (and likely beyond).
Stopping at Fargo makes zero sense as Northern Pacific had trains running from Minneapolis to Seattle, going through Fargo, in 1923. That same train(s) also went through Livingston and Bozeman. The Fargo thing has grated on me since it first came into play. There is absolutely no reason for that to be a goal of hers.
Also, a transcontinental mainline was never blocked by snowdrifts for weeks at time in that era like the show implies. A day or two at most and that was rare.
*Livingston is actually at the mouth of the valley Yellowstone is supposed to be in and was shown as such in Yellowstone with the dirty hippy protestors. The station was in the background.
**The three railroads one would like take between Chicago and Minneapolis;
Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul and Pacific
Chicago and North Western
Chicago, Burlington & Quincy
Soo Line would be the outside choice.
There used to be a LOT of big railroads in this country. After decades of mergers we essentially have six now.

I really liked Hell on Wheels. It has a few things that are "off", but it's surprisingly not bad for someone that actually knows trains/history.
I usually want to pull my hair out when railroads come into play in movies/TV shows.
Unstoppable is unbelievably bad.
Fun fact, I've operated both of the big runaway locomotives in that movie. They were leased from the railroad I worked for and repainted for their star turn.

During his governor’s press conference John Dutton says he is a 5th generation Montanan
If he comes from Spencer he would only be 4th generation…

I'm that way with guns... I can't stand when they're using a gun in a time piece before its manufacture date.. Or they shoot a rifle but its a buckshot pattern or vice versa
