Cardinals acquired TE Zach Ertz from the Eagles in exchange for CB Tay Gowan and a 2022 fifth-round pick.
Adam Schefter said the Cardinals acquired the veteran tight end "with the idea of making him a regular featured part of its offense and Ertz has told others in the past the Arizona appealed to him." This ends an excruciatingly awkward months-long dalliance between the Eagles and several teams interested in Ertz, 30.

Easy decision for him. Eagles just show how stupid a franchise is. If you going to stick with Hurts, dont take away a target on off to help the D. You need to improve the line.

You gotta to figure they hope to have an upgrade at QB next year and Ertz wasn't going to be back so they got a CB taken in the 6th and a 5th rounder, which I guess is something. Has to be a blow to Jalen hearing it though he probably knew Ertz was being shopped.
Once again shows how little vets are worth on the open market, even a solid TE only making $5M this year. Great opportunity for AZ to trial him and see if he fits their future plans.

Goedert is their guy. He's better than Ertz at this point in their careers.

The Eagles played on Sunday and yesterday, playing again on Sunday would be 3 NFL games in 7 days. I doubt they'll put him through that. My guess is he'll see his first action as a cardinal in week 7.

Former Ertz fantasy owner. His 11 catch, 2 TD days are long gone. He's still a top 20 TE easily though on the right team.
