Growing up I always said to myself that if I was good enough I'd rather walk on a tOSU team than get a scholly somewhere else.

Playing this game, however, I'd probably go with Texas. I've heard good things about Austin(and how it's supposedly just like Columbus, but better). I wouldn't hate USC and wouldn't count out Oregon, UF, LSU or Oklahoma before taking an official visit.

I know you jest in terms of Football, but I seriously take to task their "powers that be", as to why they didn't build upon that early nineties CWS crown(UC-Irvine doing better), and/or in building a solid hoops program(St Mary's doing better).

An elite education and Malibu, are easy sells.

In no particular order.

Virginia
Washington
Texas
Stanford
UCLA

Prob end up with Stanford, great academics and I like what Harbaugh is doing there.

I can go anywhere except LSU?

It would probably depend on what position I play.

QB - Notre Dame, Stanford
RB - Texas, Penn State, tOSU, Auburn, Oregon.
WR - Depends on who was getting a top QB, but probably an ACC school like Miami or FSU.
OL - Boston College
DL - Nebraska, VT
LBer - Penn State, FSU, Miami.
DB - FSU, Bama , Texas, Florida, VT

In general, just looking at schools though. I'd probably look at:

Miami
Stanford
Texas
tOSU
Notre Dame

UCLA
Texas
Boston College
Stanford
North Carolina

I'd probably choose between UCLA and Texas with Texas the slight favorite.

Legit thread.

umm...

i'd narrow my hats down to:
Florida (snatch factor)
Florida St. (snatch factor)
TCU (not too far from home factor)
Miami (snatch/swagga factor)
Cal (snatch factor)

Tulane (stay local, be a football god, get a good education)

The U (girls, swagger, beach)

Wyoming (coolest uniforms, football god that puts football on the map up there.)

San Diego St. (cool uniforms, known for the occassional high-powered offense. Dethrone Faulk as best import from Louisiana.)

Nicholls St. (stay local, dominate, never pay for another lunch again in Lafourche Parish.)

I want to be the big fish in the small pond.
I want to carve up defenses with ease.
i want to be able to slack off, not work hard, but yet still shine.

okay... why do all the actual 5* recruits pick the best football schools?

looking at this thread you'd think one guy or so would be the hero of Nicholls or FAU or wherever

so don't pick non-BCS schools in this thread because if you were an actual recruit you wouldn't go there, no matter how much you think you're different...

man that's a horrible list. You'd go to Wyoming for 3-5 years?

Nicholls?

yea and i hear fun is hard to come by as well.

so you'd concede having no shot at a NC, playing in front of empty stands, and hardly playing on TV?

if you're good enough, the stands will fill up.

i made that list as a joke.
don't take it too serious.

i'm sure i'd be an LSU commit the second they showed interest.

There's a few different reasons why people would choose UCLA or ASU, but offense? Those two schools are probably the worst offensive schools in the conference right now besides WSU who is the worst at everything.

Traditionally they both are solid Offensive programs, that place some NFL talent at a myriad of positions. With Chow and Neuheisel, things will improve. And Erickson is an open-minded guy when with a team that can score and win.

If it makes you feel any better I'm huge on Sark's upside, and would also consider UDub.

Makes sense, although I think Erickson will be fired this year. Neuheisel isn't exactly tearing it up at UCLA either and could very well be on the hot seat at the end of the year. His seat is already getting warm down there.

Thanks for the kind words, but I wasn't bashing your opinion because I thought you should have picked UW instead. Right now, Stanford would be a great pick for an offensive school if you are into smash-mouth football with a pro-style flavor. I would love it if Harbaugh was the coach of my team, but I'm not at all complaining about Sark.

Visits:
Hawaii(I would rather Chaminade because Maui is where it's at but they are like D4 in football..)
Arizona St(hot girls)
USC(gettin paid and laid!)
Miami
Rutgers(it's a fricking suburb of NYC)

I don't know who I'd chose, but these visits would be nice.
