Home ice advantage is a myth in these playoffs.

Boston fans booing the Bruins as they skate off of the ice.

Stay classy, Boston.

2018-2019 Lightning officially off the schneid

Don't forget what the next two Lightning teams did immediately after that though. It wouldn't surprise me if Boston does the same thing. It's a giant kick in the nuts but if you use the pain and disappointment correctly it can propel you to success later on.

Tampa got fricking swept by Columbus. Nothing is worse than that

idk about Boston going forward, they acquired some good young pieces but that core is pretty old, their window may be closed without some major retooling

That series will be a matter of which team comes down back to earth first. Can't still have your mind on the last series when that one starts.

Yeah I feel like Toronto is sort of the biggest winner here in a way. This further clears their path. Back in 2019 when CBJ shocked that great tampa team, everyone was talking about how they could make a deep run, how they looked like the best team in the playoffs etc. The next series they came back down to earth and lost to Boston in 5 or 6. I think this next series will be similar — Leafs in 6.

IDK, blowing a 3-1 lead feels worse as a fan than getting swept

As a fan sure
History may not remember that part as well vs simply "they lost to the 8 seed"

Tampa gave up many leads in that sweep

Are we sure the Panthers aren’t really good? They won the President’s Trophy last year, and this is a very similar team except for Tkachuck in place of Huberdeau.

the Panthers could make a run it was all about getting competent goaltending and not being a bunch of bitches

They found out last year the finesse style doesn't work in the playoffs but got Tkachuk

Once Keith called them out, they turned it on and are hot at the right time
