They only won game 7 last year due to Halliburton popping his achilles.
Eventually they're going to make a move. They have an absolute war chest but will consolidating all of that down to a star player cost them?
You can’t go down that road of injury wins because then you have to do same with SA playing 3 injured teams this year.
SA won the series but needed that miracle 3 in game 1. It was a 7 game series and SA was best this year. They didn’t win because of injuries just like OKC didn’t win last year because of injuries. Playoffs always have players injured but its not an excuse nor credit.
As for OKC they will be back better next year. They don’t have to make a lot of big moves. Get JDub healthy, get Ajay healthy and then get their first rounder Sorber healthy. Thats 3 big players to add.
Chet was a no show this entire series. We won West last 2 years because of him and he plays great against the other 28 teams. At the same time you can’t have a player disappear for games against SA. I doubt he goes anywhere but he was flat out worse than bad last night. Still young. Presti will figure it out.
Dort is likely gone along with some bench players. Cason can move into his slot.
Presti has 2 first round picks and a 2nd. He can’t use them not enough room on roster. What he does at draft I don’t know, but he’ll figure it out. He could package and trade up. He could draft and trade. He could trade out of draft except one.
They'll be back. And lets not discount other teams who are not going to sit idle and let SA and OKC run things for next several years. Thats the challenge all teams face, the tax starts to hit and teams have to manage players. Some teams will be comers.

I can because of the circumstances. They had two game 7s that year against a Pacers team with no hali and nuggs missing 2 dudes. This has nothing to do with SA title window.

Lol they won game one because they made a shot!

No telling what okc will look like next year, and we know SA will be even better.

Has NBA fandom always been so bipolar and weirdly reactionary?
The NBA is the shortbus retard of sports so yes.

I don’t see them making any large moves this offseason. Chet looked bad, but Wemby makes a lot of people look bad. I do think they are going to ask that he gains weight in the offseason.
The only moves I see them making are moving Dort, and maybe packaging some picks together to move up. I just don’t see Presti mortgaging the future to go get Giannis

And then you’ll get stuff like this. No dude, j didn’t screenshot or bookmark posts about the Nuggets from 3 years ago.
Don’t really care all the much. It’s just funny the overreactions of so many.

You literally don’t unless I’m replying to Jesus here.
Thunder on paper should have been better. Then they dealt with the 2nd most injuries than ANY team in the NBA. Which then carried over to this series.
You know idea if Spurs come through it all unscathed and can 100% repeat. The last 2 teams to repeat are some of the greatest teams in NBA history:
The KD/Steph Warriors
The LeBron/Wade Heat
It’s damn hard.

You can't predict the future. I'm old enough to remember when Jai Morant was the next big thing. Then Zion was going to dominate. So I wouldn't be surprised if they never win another one. Or if they do win another one.
The league is crazy. Along with injuries and attitudes anything can happen.

Agree. But they need to shed some dollars so there will be some negotiations to be had.
They were 8 points away from finals missing 2 key players. Not an excuse, SA won. But this matters in context of what they need to do which is not make a major move. The bench will look different. And my guess is Cason moves into Dort spot.
One note, GS won a title then missed the next year. Then won 2 straight. OKC still has some title runs left. Its hard to repeat, need everything to go just right and it didn’t. To go this far without JDub and Ajay shows how deep the team is. Chet will rightfully take a lot of heat all summer too. He was checked out last night.

At least you established that you think Jokic is good

He deserves the heat. Challenge is he adds value vs other 28 teams. He needs to fix his slow shooting style and be more aggressive. And fix his dribble down low, go for bucket more.
As bad as he played Presti won’t overreact. He’ll figure out a SA counter and I dare say JDub and Sorber would make the difference already on roster.

They did luck out a bit with Haliburton getting injured last year, but I still think they were ultimately going to win that game 7 anyways.
OKC was missing 2 starters, including their 2nd best player. Caruso is a fine role player, and he's a guy you want on your team. Simultaneously, he is absolutely not a guy you want playing 40 minutes a game in the playoffs.
Okc isn't going anywhere. They will continue to be contenders year in and year out. Chet got bitched harder than I've ever seen a player get bitched before. But to his credit, he played better last playoffs against Jokic and Gobert.

He will be taking up 25% of the cap next year, hard to swallow that pill after this performance.
Posted on 5/31/26 at 3:06 pm to Splackavellie
About 18%. And again, he choked bad vs SA but is great vs 28 other teams. Presti will figure out how to beat SA without overhaul. He’s not going to make rash decisions when JDub/Ajay playing woulda made the difference. And had Sorber plus draft to make changes. He eill have to do some roster salary work no doubt
