No idea...I figured he woulda been blowing up the interwebz after the Chizik/Roach incident, but he didn't say anything. I think he ran out of sources/stories too fast...

After reading that Shapiro went into the press box and was about to punch a dude from compliance, that analogy sounds pretty spot on.

For the people saying that this is not a ten, you are correct. This a 30.4 on a scale of 1 to 10. This is death penalty type of allegations. I hope this is the fall of the NCAA!

Salt in wounds for Teddy Dupay. While working as Utah telemarketer, Miami booster was booking rooms for sex parties in his name. Ouch.

Two Bama coaches are also named in the Yahoo story. I'm sure Bama compliance has looked into this already too.

This just screams Hollywood screenplay.
quote:
When Miami was looking for a replacement for head coach Larry Coker after the 2006 season, Shapiro met with Shalala and offered not to just coach the team for free, but to personally pay $1 million a year for the nation’s best offensive and defensive coordinators.
“‘Just let me walk the sidelines,’” Shapiro said he told Shalala. “She was laughing. I wasn’t.”
When Randy Shannon got the job, Shapiro said he had a face-to-face meeting with him on his first day as coach.
If anything, Shapiro became even bigger and bolder after nearly fighting David Reed. The next fall, when the program moved its home games to what is now called Land Shark Stadium, he rented luxury box 239B.
It promptly became home to wild partying, excessive drinking and open gambling from a rather non-collegiate cast of characters – everyone from former rapper and notorious Miami fan Luther Campbell to assorted ladies of the night.
“I had an architect try to put a stripper pole in the suite,” Shapiro said. “Aesthetically it wouldn’t work.”

1) on UM....WOW. they are fricked
2) On Shapiro...there is NOTHING lower than a man who, once bought, who will not STAY bought ( G. Gordon Liddy)
3) On student-athletes.....the only way to curb this is for the NCAA to contract with a bank to administer all Grant-in-Aid scholarships for athletes. Each year, the athlete MUST sign a document averring that he/she is eligible for the scholly and that they have not knowingly committed violations which would rule him ineligible for the aid. AND they need to be informed that signing this form would result in BANK FRAUD and that it is a federal offense for which they WILL serve jail time.

maybe The "U" can hire Craig James and Eric Dickerson as consultants to deal with the inevitable death penalty.

From the Miami scout board
That was before Robinson released his load on their face.
Here is the aftermath
They suck at melting down
quote:
Here is what pisses me off!!! How bad were Shannon and Coker? They can't even buy enough talent for their team to be a respectable program. If your going to cheat give us a f'n ring! I hope they take away the wins (whatever) and kick off the players who cheated and sucked. Spence (if he took) would be the only real lose. That would end the fear of another season with Japicky. Again if he took.... I really don't see anything more than that coming of this.

That's hilarious, I wish we had the luxury to point shave with our inept offense.

Holy sh1t...this is just a retarded version of all the exciting things to expect over the next 2 weeks.
Thank the message board gods.

See why you should be careful making fun of other teams misfortunes??
It could happen to your school at any given moment.
I laughed at USC, then it strikes Ohio State. Miami laughs at Ohio State, now the NCAA is in your kitchen.
Just hope they leave without looking under the stove.
They suck at melting down
