All that sounds like a third round pick, not a fourth overall pick. Taking AR15 at fourth overall is insanity.

If the colts didn’t have any picks after the first round, I get it. But they could have waited until the 2nd or 3rd to get Richardson.

Must've been trying to get Colts fans to go to the games to watch Anthony "The Freak" Richardson play quarterback.

's a potential pick. They probably don't expect him to start immediately. He could be someone special 3 years from now.

This isn’t 1995. You don’t spend first round picks on guys that can’t contribute now.

They’ll have him for four years with a team option for five. If he doesn’t start plying well for three years then they lose all of that value because he is either he about to leave town or you have to blow up your roster to afford him.

Tim Tebow, followed by Cam, fricked up everybody because now they think that body type is winning formula, when in fact, the guy had about a 5 year career.

Could be worse, you could have drafted a QB 2nd overall who has such poor cognitive skills, he has to wear velcro shoes.

Its what we have known all along, the decision makers will always err on the side of freakish athletes, Richardson IS that. Same thing with the rap sheets (DT Carter), they don't matter to the NFL if you can play.

Also he scored 35 against Tenn, LSU, and FSU. If the defense showed up a little we could of won at least 1 of those.

Using SP+ defensive rankings

LSU 26

UT 30

FSU 35

Also, what offensive weapons do they have to help him?

Colts aren't devoid of talent offensively, they just have been missing a QB. They've got a bellcow back and good RB to take the pressure off of Richardson and they've got two solid WR as well. Probably need to pick up a TE to help provide a security blanket but AR will have some tools to work with. Stroud is in a much tougher situation than AR is

reading defenses.

Except on film he has shown he can read to defenses and react to coverages he sees in future plays. If he was as bad as this board acts he would have been picked around where Malik Willis went last year

Jalen hurts also played for stacked teams

And he’s been a better pro than college player so I’m not sure that matters in this argument. He’s most likely just a better qb. The odds are tgat richardson will be awful. NOT another Jalen Hurts and this is beyond naive to assume (for Indy front office, not for discussion on this board)

This is what happens when guys who should be playing TE now play QB. Cam Newton fricked up everybody because now they think that body type is winning formula, when in fact, the guy had about a 5 year career.
which makes no sense because we’ve seen other qbs of that mold that the nfl didn’t go crazy for. Tebow is the first that comes to mind. What exactly is it about Richardson that makes him so mesmerizing?

He’ll be a great XFL QB in a couple years.
